I don't know why you lot are spending all this money.

Instead buy a 22" widescreen TFT monitor (with DVI input preferably), and connect to your PC. Models below.

Then you buy a TV tuner USB stick (tiny!) such as Hauppage Nova-T @ £49.99. The freeview picture is excellent, and full screen is the same as a TV.
Best price monitors with DVI are:

    iiayama E2200WS @ £250
    Viewsonic VX2235WM @ £275.

The latter also comes as VX2245 with a boosted speaker and iPOD dock.

    Outlets: Pixmania, MicroDirect, Savastore.com.

Which of course then requires PC in the living room attachment....which might put the price up somewhat :)

You basically just said: spend about 300 - 325 on a 22" TV which will also mean having a PC on at all times instead of a 32" for 399 that doesn't. How does this equate to a saving? ;)
They promised the earth...and delivered mud. Technically though it did meet the spec.

Can anyone direct me to any websites that explain what all the different specs for LCDs/plasmas mean and what the best technology is? Looking to buy in the summer and want to be genned up on what's a good deal (or not as the case may be)
    Thanks

    xx
;) If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!
  • Let me just say...
    Plasma's are for Slim TV's over 37"
    LCD's are for slim TV's under 37"
And sometimes the pic quailty can demand on the brand... Like sonys bravia is suppose to have a good Screen with its BE!

    Re: PHILIPS 32PF3320 32" @ £397.97 from PC World.

I'm sure my "out of stock" email is on its way..I was a bit dubious re the Dixons "fake postings" threads I've read on here anyway. Bah

Edit: I thought so.. (Someone on here is complaining about the "Out Of Stock" email).. http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=461015&highlight=32PF7521

("Probably because they don't actually stock them, they can list any item at any price, as long as they don't actually sell any.

A ploy to get potential customers to their website in the hope that they may just buy something else.

DSG Group ( Currys, Dixons , PC World etc. ) have been playing this little trick for years.")

Hi, I'm looking to get a Toshiba 37wlt66 lcd, I have managed to find it at digital direct for £705 but you don't get an extended warranty. John Lewis have it but it is £200 more with a 5 year warranty.

Does anyone know where I might find this with at least a 3 yr warranty for around the 7 mark?

    thanks
