Hello Kathfisch, thanks for the reply,i only found it by chance as the beeb spendaholics website link doesnt work for some reason
Also havent seen it previewed as yet and i think the show is great at making people aware of their own particular situation and how to improve it to be better off by taking positive action and a new year is a good incentive to set yourself a challenge or two
Also found some ideas to be useful and was the inspiration to find this site last year, all DFW`ers sometimes feel they are alone and unable to cope and its great to have support as we dont have an army of experts to sort us out
I unfortunately missed Martins show of "make me rich" so hopefully that might get another showing sometime.
M
Ps Happy new year to you kathfisch

Thanks for this - good spot.
I wonder what happens to the people AFTER the programme however. I'd be interested in seeing a follow-up series.
Also, what's happened to Alvin and/or the Bank of Mum and Dad crew?
I genuinely hope there'll be no more Cesarina (sp?) however - that programme is awful.0 -
Hello Tepidwater,Yes i like alvin Hall as well and i did watch the Cesarina woman for about 2 minutes didnt like the format, saw the one involving the Model and didnt bother with the other screenings.
Actually spendaholics did a follow up on some of the people they sorted out it was called "Spendaholics saved my life" and featured amongst others a young actor who spent around £9500 a year on eating out it then showed him a year later having taken onboard the experts advice and he had sorted himself out and paid his debts off
I particular like the Shock treatment when they line up the persons purchases like tons of shoes and or lots of clothes filling up the persons kitchenand the look on the persons face when they see it and the cost is brought home to them

I'll watch this so I can chunter and yell at the telly as per usual.
With the lifestyle adviser ( long haried lady) saying things like "you can still get a buzz from buying a 2 quid loaf of bread/ personalised aftershave/ new furniture etc"
Personally I dont think its hardcore enough, but Ill watch it to make myself feel virtous! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Not sure if I have watched this before of not.
Loved the bank of Mum & Dad, made my kids watch that too!
Will tune in & see what I can learn.
If nothing else they usually make my debts look small!

Its not hardcore in terms of taking debts into account and cutting spending drastically, but I do think its interesting on the emotional side. Each person featured is different but a lot of them really do figure out the causes of their spending, and so find it easier to cut back, and that's the bit I like!Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. from tv listing...Series that shows how to lead a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget. Student Jason Cooper is drowning in debt - money frittered away on comics, DVDs, trainers and jeans, despite only earning 550 pounds a month as a part-time sales assistant. He ignores all financial issues that affect his wife and young child. Psychological coach Benjamin Fry helps Jason come to terms with his feelings of inferiority and superiority, while Jay Hunt teaches him to stop using expensive labels as a defence mechanism0

Me too! Any plans for a new series?! I think that was my favorite of all of the debt busting programmes (I was at work when Make Me Rich was on TV - shame it wasn't on at a more mainstream time).Overpay!0 -
