After 7 years, all you can do is try. Someone might be around to blow the dust off the phone at the other end.0

I tried the phone number it didn't work. Guess it was a long shot lol. I've emailed the chief executive. Maybe I'll get somewhere who knows !!!128514;!!!128514;0

Why isn't your Claim Company doing this chasing for you? They are going to bill you fully a third (plus VAT) of the redress you are waiting for.
Why not make them do at least something to earn it?!:eek:0 -
I've Googled a lot about hsbc pay out times there is nothing that's helpful except these really old threads.
Trust me I've rang the company and they haven't an answer for why it's taking so long and when I've suggested if they can contact hsbc they have said that it's not possible.
Email has sent. Like I said it's a long shot0 -

Why are they saying, "it's not possible" when it clearly is?
EDIT;
PPI redress is normally paid by HSBC 28 days after receipt of the acceptance letter. They ask you to allow this period in writing.
So ten days after sending the letter is far too soon to be "escalating" to the Chief Executive I'm afraid.0 -
You would think they would want it to hurry along so they get paid quicker like you said. But it seems like they don't care. They only want their money.
I was initially told that when counting the days for payment you had to miss out the weekends. Hence the reason why I was told this Wednesday gone was the day it would be paid, the 10th day which is supposedly when they pay out. Then the girl who i spoke to today said 28 calendar days inc weekends.
When I spoke to the PPI company today and she gave me a number to ring them on. She then stated that they pay out around the 14th day. The girl on the phone said usually when the customers contact the bank they usually pay out faster. This number apparently is what the PPI company can call hsbc on and they can pass it to customers.
Anywho I tried calling the number she gave me and guess what it didn't work.
It hasn't been 10 days it's been 18 nearly 19. My employer is wanting to know when my car is going to be fixed so I can get back to work.
I have not received anything from hsbc in writing regarding the length of time the redress is paid. I've not escalated anything to the chief I have merely asked him/her if they can possibly tell me when it will be paid0 -

Why should the chief executive of a company be expected to answer routine and mundane questions from customers?
Let your Claim Company handle any chasing that may be required (after 28 days have elapsed) and start getting the bus to work..0 -
Bumblebee2083 wrote: »So when your told usually they pay after 10 days then told by someone different it's 14 days to then be told in total they have 28 days.
Importantly, no one at HSBC has told you anything different.
I can assure you that it will have said this clearly on the acceptance letter you signed and returned.
As for the rest of your post about public transport etc, my earlier comments were tongue-in-cheek except for the one about PPI redress having nothing to do with the timescale for getting your car fixed, I'm afraid.
So you'll just have to make other arrangements for getting to work if you are relying on PPI redress to pay for your car to be fixed. Let your claim company chase the redress and stop stressing.

I apologise for my previous post. Just had a crappy day.
The acceptance letter was signed and sent
back.
I called the number for hsbc that the ppi claims company gave me.
I spoke to someone who told me they received the acceptance form on the 14th of Feb but had only just scanned it through on the 3rd of March. He then says from now it's going to take 6-8 weeks to complete. I'm gonna ring the PPI company see what they think.
No it doesn't but even just to know something so I can have my car booked in for repair. Trust me I've exhausted every option for getting to work. None of my friends have a car I can borrow. I can't use the company vehicle because they need it everyday. I can't even get a courtesy car as my insurance only gives one if I've been in an accident.
Probably be quicker to go get a brand new car on finance!0 -

I'm sorry your personal circumstances are such that you are struggling to make ends meet. You may want to avail yourself of the help available on the "DebtFreeWannabe" board of this forum.
