  • you were not stupid, you were being nice, friendly and helpful and someone took advantage of that.
This should not stop you from being nice and friendly again - but you do have to follow this one up with NPB, the threat of court action etc , for the sake of any other people they might try to take advantage of in the future.

    Never trust anybody on eBay.

Thats a bit unfair is it not?

Im a eBay seller/buyer - 100% feedback and not had a problem (Yet). I communicate at all stages of the transaction and post the next day if atall possible. I would only ever send out once the money has cleared.
I have sold and bought items from 99p-£2500!

I guess you just need to treat it like a business - get the money, make sure it clears, then send the goods by a tracable method. Be VERY clear in your conditions of sale and be polite, but refuse to ship any items before payment clears. Make sure that your description is 100% accurate.

I guess there are cowboys in all areas of life......the trick is to avoid them!!!

    Try goofbay's feedback sniper

That way they won't have time to retaliate :)

If this system is based around ebays perceived 90 day feedback policy I wouldn't bother if your intention is to avoid retalitory negs.
More often than not feedback can still be left long after the 90 days expires.

And as there does not seem to be a definitive set time limit for feedback I am surprised that Goofbay are claiming they can provide this service.

Also Ebay suspend Goofbay's access to their site whenever they do anything that Ebay don't like.
So I would suggest that the fact that ebay are letting Goofbay operate this tool confirms that this tool is not what it claims to be.

Excellent news! I was just reading through this post, about to say how nice you had been, and that not all Ebayers are ********, and you've just proven it for me!
