  • Hi All

    Just to update on CAG.

I have spoken to the CAB this morning and acting on their advice contacted consumer direct who were less than sympathetic. They told me because I have signed the agreement I have agreed to the terms and conditions in the agreement. They have also told me that as I have terminated the agreement with CAG I will still have to pay a fee, arguing no fee at all will be hard, but I do have an argument with them as they have not contacted my bank so what have they done and what the hell am I paying for.

I am scared of this so called company now and the lengths they will go to to get money out of people. I can't pay them anything at all a I am unemployed and on a DMP, which they already know about, so what are they going to do take my job seekers allowance off me, this is all I have to live on and pay my bills with.

    Shaz

  • please help .i asked cag to act for me,after there cold call ,however after all the form filling ....after 18months i got a result and got a cheque from barclays who said we also done an investigation & found that you also had other loans so therefore we are refunding you the full ppi on all loans, anyway cag sent me an invoice for £300 plus for the work they done on getting me back £1000 plus back i paid them ,but then 4 months down the line they asked me for a further £2000 plus for the other part of the refund, but it was for loans i didnt tell them about ,do i pay or not i dont know :(
  • I'm also stuck with cag! I have autism and ADHD and believed what they were telling me. They hounded me on the phone . They also said it was a no win no fee. It was feb 2011 when I signed the forms. Anyway a few weeks back they rang me again and I lost my temper and told them I didn't want to be with them and to leave me alone. I then got a letter saying I'm in a 14 day on hold and I will be charged a reasonable fee?? What is this fee? 2 days later I received 6 offers off the RBS . Thought to my self ok what the hell have I signed now for these people to be sending me this? I then rang cag and apologised to them and told them about the offers. They said they'd done all the work and that the banks paper work hadn't reached them yet and I was to forward on the paper work . But I didbt . I rang the RBS and thruway said I had done the ppi investigating my self as the cag can not act on my behalf as there is no signature off me enabling them to do so. I then asked cag to send me my documents. Nothing is off the bank to them . Only 3 letters . 2 to the bank and one to the ombudsman . Neither the ombudsman or the bank will deal with the cag . But still they want to charge me?? I'm very vulnerable and have dyslexia too. I never even read the damn forms they sent. And also wouldn't have a clue what 39% is in a sum of money. I'm not too clever and feel absolutely gutted with my self for being so gullable . I did give the cag an account number. But not the loan numbers as I didbt knkw what they were. I've cancelled my agreement with cag and I have asked for all the paper work off the bank to them selves to be sent to me. They tried saying they needed permission off the manager to do this. But I'm sure it's because they have nothing . No proof of my offers on paper. No correspondence at all off the bank. So now I'm seaking advice off the claims justice people. It's made me ill all this. Last year I hada break down . I am on benefits too and have two disabled boys also to deal with . They pressured me.
  • Also what is the fee to cancel? They won't tell me. Thanks.
  • Hi there, I'm in the same position and just wondered if any one has been to the citizens advice bureau about this? If yes what was the outcome? Are they worth going to? This company have made my life hell and have caused me so much stress. I am willing to give them something but I ended up chasing down Barclays and getting the money back myself. 39% is just too much!
  • I have been trying to get info on CAG claims group as I've had problems getting in contact with them!
I am most shocked to read so many other stories similar to the problem I have.
I am most annoyed because my debt management who referred me to this company as it's their "sister" company for B & E so I felt confident things would go smoothly and was happy to pay 40% for taking care of everything as I have no time!!!! Now I'm waisting time chasing things up!
Most distressing is its not just 1 claim!!!! It's about 10!!!!
Now after 3 Times telling them not to try claim for one company, they pushed and I caved because its the only way I was able to access online updates? Although I definitely haven't signed for that one!!!!

Please any new people reading this, if not to late? I do not recommend!!!!! :(
  • It's an absolute sin!!!!
I feel so bad for you and have just realised how easy it is for these company's to manipulate!!!! They are worse than the PPI itself!!!
Why is nothing being done to stop this????
    It's daylight robbery!!!!
I really hope you can get this resolved without further stress, It's not worth getting ill over but easier said than done "aye".

    Best regards

I suggest you write the following to your debt management company:

    FORMAL COMPLAINT

I wish to make a formal complaint against you because you referred me to Claims Advisory Group Limited to seek recovery of missold Payment Protection Insurance.

You know, because you are covered by the same regulations, that I could have made such a claim myself very easily at no cost in order that my debts are cleared more quickly.

Furthermore, you put me at risk of having any redress paid direct to my creditors leaving me with a new debt to Claims Advisory Group Limited.

    That is clearly bad advice.

Furthermore I suspect you have received a payment from Claims Advisory Group Limited or that you will do so if any redress is awarded. The Law says that is a bribe - a criminal offence.

Therefore, I now require a written undertaking from you that you will meet any fee which has been or will be charged by Claims Advisory Group Limited.

I would remind you that the rules that apply to you in respect of this complaint require you to acknowledge it promptly and to respond to it in writing within eight weeks giving me the reasons for your decision or to explain why you need more time to decide whether or not to uphold it.

That letter also needs to explain my right to take refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service and you must enclose a copy of the booklet "Your complaint and the Ombudsman".

You are not permitted to charge me for this.

    Yours faithfully
  • CAG small print not sure I ever saw where they were going to charge me 49% plus an administration charge and then VAT, on the first offer I have received after nearly 15 months of £378 I get around £50. I told them I didnt want to go any further with other claims as there was no point as the money was quite clearly for them not for me, but they said I would incur a cancellation fee so hey ho they are going to get all the money I paid on miss sold PPI. !!!!!!
