What should I do to get refund for mattress return?

Options
I bought a mattress online and asked for refund several days later after receiving mattress. The supplier finally agreed to refund with 85 pounds cost after 5 months painful negotiation. I just want to get it sorted as soon as possible and I agreeed with this cost even I think I should have full refund under DSR.
The supplier said that he would issue the refund as soon as inspecting the mattress and He hasn't done a Scotland run since the courier collected it four weeks ago.
It has been 10 months since I paid for this mattress. The mattress was collected six weeks ago and I ask for the progress again today. Hope I can get some update for the refund. It is really headache for me even thinking about it. What should I do if the supplier keeps saying that?

Who is the supplier please? Always useful to know which company isn't overly pro-active in dealing with customer issues.

It won't show the company name. You may search my other threads to get more information about my story if you want.

Big questions - how many days is "several"? Why did you want to return the mattress - change of mind (this includes if you found it too hard/soft/lumpy), or was it faulty?

Either way, it's taken them far too long

I asked for refund the first time 3 days later after receiving the mattress because I thought it is too hard for me and caused my back pain. He suggested me that I should try it on a longer time. Then he asked me to get more information so he could figure out what type of mattress was suitable for me and send me an alternative one. For example, he asked me to try mattresses on stores. After I sent him the types I thought comfortable, he asked to get the information about the structure of mattress I actually slept on instead of the trial mattresses. It is really hard to get that information since the mattress suitable for us was bought years ago. After I finnally sent him such information, his suggestion was to buy a topper to make the mattress comfortable or he could ask the manufacturer to build another layer in a mattress but that mattress wouldn't be refunded. Of course, I refused his suggestion. I insisted on refund no matter he said since then...

Under DSR you should have received a refund within 30 days whether they have the matrress back in their possesion or not. I am of course assuming it was returned under DSR.
If it was faulty they have the right to inspect it first but the timespan they are taking is way, way over accepable levels. Either way it may be time to ask the trading standards for an opinion on this one.

Would this be a 'Dim Teegan' mattress per chance?

Is this the same issue raised on here previously ....or a new unrelated poster with the same issue as an old one? It's difficult to judge whether the company has treated one person in this way or more than one.

The supplier said that the mattress was refunded as a good will gesture instead of DSR. Of course I didn't agree with him but I really don't want to take more time to argue with him.

Then I can imagine where this thread will end. Interesting to see he still claims to be associated with this site on his Facebook Page. Thought the MSE legal bods would have sorted that one by now.
