Hello you! :hello:
The important thing is that you've discovered it early and you're tackling it early.
Go to Hypno's diary for hint & tips on how to stay debt free once having become debt free. Just try not to be so scarily efficient...
Believe me, I can be accused of many things, efficiency is not one of them! :rotfl:As Z says at least you are aware of it now & are dealing with it.
On the eye lasering I have a totally different prespective and wouldent have it done if you paid me.
Im glad you are happy with it though.
Have you finished at uni now?
Did someone you know have a bad experience with it then? Or are you just worried about people messing about with your eyes? Tbh, that worried me a bit too. I watch House far too often and they've discovered the dramatic impact of the eye biopsy on that show! Scary as h*ll!
No, I'm still not finished unfortunately. It's a long story involving a non-materialising student loan and a 30+ hour a week job on top of studying. There's a reason the government says 15 hours a week tops for students, they might not have got much right but they got that bit. Oh well, third time's the charm, eh? *rolls eyes*

Hello Mollusk.
Hi GMLM
In term of laser surgery there are a whole raft of experiences. Lisa Waters 'It's all gone so wrong' had a bad experience with laser surgery. Tried to persuade me not to have it.
I am glad you had a good experience with it. I am pleased with the result but had a lot of pain immediatly after it, then went to sleep, after that had irritation for about 3/4 days while a contact lens was left in to protect the surface. It did feel like I'd left a contact lens in for days. I was on the ceiling for a few days. Was better for the second eye.
It's probably like anything else, important to research your surgeon properly and check how much care and aftercare you get. I've got perfect 20/20 vision in one eye and left slightly shortsighted in the other because that should mean no glasses for about another 10 years as my eyes change in middle age.
I actually thought the ads saying how great they were the next day were completely wrong, so you've changed my mind on that one. But likewise people may not have the experience you've had.
My family thought I was mad to have it done. Not enough research on it!
So I guess room for all experiences.

Morning all.
Yes I did get them all to bed and they are just wakening now.
Looks like a good day here.
I always wanted to get my eyes lasered but have an astignatism as well as short sighted so not suited to me.
Think it will be a slow day here, just usual housework type stuff but don't think I have to go out anywhere.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -

elliemoo I have astigmatism and have had my eyes lasered successfully. My best advice would be do your research. What part of the country do you live ? I had mine done in Liverpool but the guy who did mine now works in their Manchester clinic and he is excellent. HTHNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. I'm guessing you must've had a different treatment to me by the sounds of things. I had LASIK which is meant to have a shorter healing time than other treatments. I didn't have to wear a lens afterwards, just use a ton of eye drops to stop infection and inflammation. Tbh, I noticed the difference as soon as the laser stopped, before they even put my cornea back! I probably would've had more pain if I hadn't been as drugged up in painkillers as it's possible to be without prescription. My uncle had it done and said it was like he was chopping onions for for 2 hours. He obviously thought that wasn't a scary metaphor as he was in catering for years. I absolutely hate the feeling of chopping onions though so I took two different painkillers in tandem to stop it from hurting. They still watered a lot but as I said, it just felt like a headache behind my eyes to me. Then again, everyone's different and we all react differently to these things.

Does anyone know of anyone or know of anyone who might know of anyone who might want to work a cider bar in Edinburgh Friday - Sunday. Maybe a student? I know some of you are up there. PM me if you do.
