Happy birthday Louise to your DS
Thanks Beanie, I have another Birthday on Monday, DS1's 18th:eek: then the dreaded A-level results on Thursday which sickens me if I think about it:o Until the actual results come out we cant make any plans for uni.But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
DS2's 16th Birthday today, been to Newcastle already this morning (having a major panic attack in one way system as I went:eek:)
Never worry about one way systems. The only thing that happens is you have to go round again. Take plenty petrol.
Of course I can be blase as I learned to drive in Sunderland. Round the *old* one-way system.I had sat nav, recently updated around 3 weeks ago and it still tried to send me down a pedestrian and delivery area!
Avoid using sat navs in the middle of city centres. The tall buildings confuse them. When I was in Glasgow, mine tried to send me through a scrap yard...Thanks Beanie, I have another Birthday on Monday, DS1's 18th:eek: then the dreaded A-level results on Thursday which sickens me if I think about it:o Until the actual results come out we cant make any plans for uni.

To be honest Z it has been a very reliable Satnav in built up areas as I have used it for walking routes in Newcastle and other city centres with no trouble at all........until I forgot to set it back to car route and it tried to send me around a roundabout the wrong way.
You would think I should have noticed as the time to destination was 7 hours:rotfl:But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

You use a sat nav for walking?! What speed do you walk?!

Only when trying to find somewhere in a city I am not familiar with, usually to find restaurants/shops.
It sort of gives you a route to walk with all the street names displayed......quite cool really. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

But with a map you cant search for Nandos on it:D
The tourist ones have all the shops on..
Besides I thought women loved wandering endlessly past shops putting little smudgy nose marks on the windows..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
