My beautiful Swedish next door neighbour has died aged 37 from cancer. She leaves behind a distraught husband and two young daughters aged 9 and 6

That's pretty devastating. The same thing has happened to a friend of mine leaving his wife with a 3 year old and 2 month old. Hope your neighbour has got lots of support practical and emotional.

(Ellie - I don't think I'm down as a FB friend for you!)

Well another day of mousetrap with the keystone cops. Wonder where they will be tonight. Think I'll be a bit more productive and get on with my job applications!.....and still have my dissertation proposal to do - wonder if the broadband connection will hold up today.

A cold developed yesterday just after I'd booked my train to Edinburgh. So please keep your fingers crossed that I can throw this off before I have to work 3 days on a cider bar in Edinburgh. I can do without sneezing in people's cider (and I'm sure they'd say the same).

Hope you feel better soon Butti.

Glad to hear that your son in safe in Manchester Ellie:)

DS2's 16th Birthday today, been to Newcastle already this morning (having a major panic attack in one way system as I went:eek:) He has spend the majority of his birthday money on bits for his drum kit. Damn it is an expensive instrument to play but it is all he wants to do.

Good news on his bus pass the the college he has chosen to go to provides a free one to ALL students.......we never get anything for free usually:T

I can relate to that - ended up going down the Blackett St bus route in Newcastle once. Not sure how I got on it, and remember looking for how the hell I was going to get off it!

I had sat nav, recently updated around 3 weeks ago and it still tried to send me down a pedestrian and delivery area! Thankfully the Birthday Boy is what I have dubbed him the "North east equivilent of The Artful Dodger" and has an uncanny spatial awareness and sense of direction.

At the age of 11 he was showing the whole family the ropes around London Underground and bus system:eek:

Probably why he is such a good drummer:D
