Well the scores on the doors here today are two brand new M&S tops from CS for £4 (£2 each) :j and one leaking radiator, filled with car-putty-stuff £0 :j:j:j.
Xmas has been shorn back to the bare bone - family, friends, neighbours have been advised that the Thrifty family will not be sending gifts this year. £100 each has been allocated to ds/dd (already saved :T); food and everything else will be handmade and given to our close friends with our love. Feels sooooo liberating.

Well done thrifty, great idea
I only have DD, my parents and bro and now an OH to buy for, and luckily have got 99% of things for DD and my parents, more thoughtful and pared down than in previous years, but with my bro, I'm thinking of saying let's just give each other something foody and homemade (I've got hm booze in the cupboard!), as he's quite loaded, I'm not and for the past few years it's felt really false giving each other presents, as we don't know each other that well.....
for OH, it's also tricky as its our first Christmas of knowing each other and we're going on a pricy holiday with DD next year, so I'm tempted to get him a 'token gift' and say I'm going to put some more money into our joint holiday fund rather than buying him lots of goodies, as I'm sure we'd rather have a great time in Italy than have more 'things' to open on the day. He doesn't strike me as a big present type person.0 -

One of the cats belonging to my boss had to be taken to the vet due to paw problems; diagnosis was an infection and the best thing help the healing was soaking the extremity in warm salt water. But you had to a) keep the paw in the water and b) make sure that the cat didn't get opportunity to lick the soaked limb as the salt water would cause further problems.
I sometimes think that vets haven't tried this on the average, annoyed anyway 'cos it's at the vets, wide awake feline
Hope the your wee beastie feels better soon; can he bear to be stroked? If so, send a couple from me. And belated congrats on the book sale:D‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
