Can I be cheeky and ask for some healing vibes for me and DD please: I fell over yesterday and have hurt my bad leg, not sure whether I should go and ask A&E for an x-ray (as I'm waiting for surgery anyway on it) or just rest up, as it is a bit better than it was last night. Hmmm....

Also, DD has D&V :( so a day of cuddles, washing and cleaning beckons
  • You got the healing vibes Kittikins... and if you think you should go to A & E, then you probably should.

  • Kitty go to A and E, best to be sure.
Anyone you can leave DD with?? Hugs to you both xx

Kittikins... Have you called your GP? The surgery will be open and they can advise.
  • Kittikins - always wise to get these things checked out. Look after yourself. ((()))

Bitsy - ahhh the old unrealistic expectations, puts hand up to being guilty of this. One thing I try to do since being on here is to keep chunking things down into tiny steps, to have no more than 3 things on my list and to keep that list rolling. When you look back, you often see those expectations realised :j.

Here at Thrifty Towers, after going to dentist yesterday, my mouth is sorer than a sore thing and my head is still groggy. Could be due to two injections, one in gum, one through the palate and a head full of anaesthetic .

On the subject of the withdrawal of the state, I would like to share these two gems. My dentist is currently working on two of my teeth. If this does not work I have two options:
    1. Have both teeth out - cost around £120
    2. Have both teeth treated with no guarantee of being pain free - cost ...... £1200
Carer's allowance is not a benefit that provides additional benefits so I would receive no assistance.

Dd came home yesterday with details of an A-level course that "should be attended otherwise she will be disadvantaged" - cost ...... £400

We really are dividing into a country of haves and have-nots. I remember when they used to talk about the divide 20-25 years ago, that was nothing compared to the chasm that seems to be developing now.

Tea-break over, back to it. Have a good day folks, Thriftyxxx
  • Hugs, Thrifty - having been in the dental hot seat last month, I know that feeling.. I was shocked how much of a pasting I felt I'd had!

Kittikins - I second everyone's urgings to get yourself checked out.

Just getting some things done before going out for lunch at my sister's. It will be nice to come back in to a bit more order after my day out!

Kittikins - sending you some healing thoughts for you and your DD, I also think you need to see A&E.

I hate the dentist too - I was due to go in July, however, I couldnt afford it and since I have been more stressed I have been grinding my teeth more and feel that some maybe cracked because I occasionally get the ooch feeling in them. I am admit to being terrified of the dentist but thankfully I now have sympathetic dentist who even lets me rest my jaw during treatment because it can dislocate or lock:eek:

Hugs to all that need them today...(sitting wishing the ruddy phone would ring).

I love reading this thread but cant always keep up due to work and family commitments during term time :o but do occasionally pop in. Popping in today because yet again I am pinned down with the headache from hell. This time I have decided to stay off work. Only on here now because unthinking boss rang me to ask about something which IMHO could have waited. So now I am up and awake and feeling bleurgh........................

Headaches happening every 3-4 days and lasting about 3-4 days. I do have migraines but this is nothing like the pattern of my migarine and indeed the migraine meds dont work. I have been back again to docs and managed to get some prescription pain killers but they are really not touching it so I am not taking them also stuff for sinus as this might be a problem too - was sent to ENT almost 2 yrs ago but they were satisfied nothing wrong with my sinuses. Its beginning to take over my life at a time when I want to concentrate on other things, not least the debt :(

Lovely warm sunny day here. Think I will go and sit in the garden for a bit and enjoy it whilst it lasts

Igam...have you thought about getting your eyes tested? That could be a reason for having headaches that last for days on end. Headaches that last for 3-4 days are usually a sign of something more serious - if the doctor tries to fob you off with more painkillers then push for a second opinion.

I remember having a headache that lasted 4 days - it nearly cost me my sight because I had elevated eye pressure caused by glaucoma. Get yourself checked out.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    Good Morning

Headache gone, think it was a stress headache. It went as soon as the brother prob was resolved IYSWIM.

Lovely sunny day here, washing on the line another load in the WM.

Need to pop into town for some stuff, then the rest of the day is creating kits.
