I heard a quote on the radio today (may have been from a film possibly Ferris something or other) that unless you occasionally stop and look around you everything just passes you by (something like that).

    Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

    Interesting billboard from the US:

So, if you're preparing for the worst, are you inviting it? And if not, why not! (Answers on one side of the paper only, starting NOW!:rotfl:)

My friend who has Chinese family stayed over last night - she showed my how to make "Clear chicken stock" - 3 litres of the stuff, from four!!! yes four chicken wings.

Yesterday we put the wings in cold water and set the slow cooker on low for 8 hours - then at bedtime tipped the stock out and filled the slow cooker and the cooked chicken wings over with water again and left to on overnight.

Today all the stock was simmered and reduced until at the 3 litre point in my pressure cooker.

The stock is really clear and tasty - just like the soup you get in proper Chinese restaurants - I can't believe I have got a stash of such loveliness from four teeny little pieces of chicken.

    That's what friends are for.

Karma, at least you know whats under the stairs and making GOOD use of it which is what the decluttering is about I think.
Me........ well I have a piano which I have no intention of decluttering. My stairs are open to the lounge and OH plays the piano often which I love.

I guess if you know that there is a possibility of major storms then to prepare for the worst is not necessarily inviting it but knowing that you can get through it.

We are having mental weather today - freezing cold torrential rain that is overflowing all the drains, followed by seriously baking hot sun, then more rain, then sun - I am on my 2nd set of clothes today as I had to wade ds out of gymnastics, he had to be carried as the puddles were higher than his knees! Dd is snuggled up under a blanket on the sofa and demanding soup for lunch.

Upstairs of house sorted, wm and dw on and kitchen not too bad, dining room and lounge next.

For anybody who doesnt believe in the laws of attraction yet. Let me just say that last week I started to think about a new way that I could deal with an issue that I have at the moment. Only thinking about it and wondering if it would work. In the last 3 days I have had 4 people approaching me to ask if I had thought about X and if so they have the solution.!!!

Hmmm - off to the library to get the Secret out.
