I have suggested he contacts a friend with a small boy and we meet up halfway and to play on the beach and have dinner somewhere.. but getting him to do anything is difficult and requires rockets!

very good Toots :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I had a good day flying yesterday. Downstairs was immaculate apart from the pile of 'stuff' on top of the microwave which is our favourite dumping ground.
I haven't done a thing tonight cos I am a tad tired. Work again tomorrow, then I am planning a housey weekend with no running round except the library.
Night all

So glad I have found this anglicised version of Flylady - because that American bird is really scary!! However I do know what she means by having a shiny sink - I was very sceptical at first - but if I do nothing else I always make sure the 'sink is shiny'! I will enjoy following this thread. Good evening
Had a good day at the Inside Garden party. My godmother had a lovely day (although she was probably relieved when we all went home!) It was good to catch up with peopleETA I am so proud of my children
they are always polite and well behaved at these do's - even with all the batty wrinklies there!! (and that's just their mother :rotfl:)
Came home via McDs for the kids -apparently there was only 'old lady food' at the party (according to DD2). I quite enjoyed it, so I don't know what that says about me!! :rotfl:
Walked the dog when I got in - it is still really warm, despite raining all day. DD1 is still on the patio chatting to her friend before they go out ( It's bedtime!!)
Tomorrow I need to hang out the washing, put at least one other load in, start packing for our holiday in a week, pack for my dirty weekend with DHand get some paperwork organised re work. Still need to get new contracts signed, and need to work out hours still available, etc for a lady that phoned tonight :j Oh, and I might tidy up a bit
DD1 will be home alone for the weekend while we are away, but as she is working all weekend hopefully she won't make too much mess!
Hugs and spoons to those that need them. And Happy Birthday to Squeak
Night night all!0 -

I decided I couldnt be faffed with any more sorting and flinging so.. I am knitting... I WILL get this cardy finished for the baby.. I have finished 1 so far.. I am sure Squeak had about 10 by now! lol... I can see me spending a lot of time knitting once the windows are done and the house dehovellified!
DS1s gf has miscarried the baby (no that there was an actual baby)... and I know it sounds awful but.. I am quite glad.. it isnt the right time for either of them, I dont even think they are right for each other TBH.. I have been nice and supportive on the phone to them both.. but I dont have to pretend to you lot I hope..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
No Piggers you don't - and I would feel exactly the same way were it MY DS and his GF. Sometimes these things work out for the best.
My friends daughter miscarried earlier this year and the relationship wasn't serious (in fact I think they'd already split) so probably best for her, too. Though I did express my sympathies because it can't be a nice thing to go through and I am sure it must be awful for anyone who struggles to conceive to hear of these things. C'est la vie!
Am rather chuffed. Something I didn't think of selling on flea bay (for ages) has a bid and another watcher.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
piggers I am sorry for their loss but it was maybe not meant to be and as you say if they are not right for each other then this will give each of them more time to find out.
I should be in bed - have to be up at 5.30 to go to my fav uncle's funeral - so wont be here tomorrow.

Piggers why the heck would you even consider pretending to us? I know what you mean about the right time though and if it was ment to be they wouldnt have lost it (why does that phrase "lost it" sound like they've misplaced something rather than what it is supposed to mean in that situation) this is going to be a huge strain on their relationship as you know, so it may just be a blessing in disguise if they arent right for each other.
Toots lots of hugs and coping vibes for tomorrow for you. but naughty for not telling us sooner (although apologies if you had, but i dont remember reading it).0 -
Right, will try and remember as much as possible.
toots - sending you coping vibes for tmw. Horrible occasions, funerals! My mum used the trick of making up lots of words with the letters on the wreaths.
pigpen - Hope you know that you don't (need to pretend, that is). Could you manage an outing to a park with four kids? Or would that be more trouble than it's worth?
cat - love the Tequila frog!
Serena - I haven't even done the basics today!
Holly - I find that small bedrooms aren't too bad, provided there is enough space elsewhere in the house. Hope it's what you're looking for.
I'm sure there was more!
OH may or may not be coming out of hospital tomorrow and we may or may not be going to Norfolk on Saturday. I need to e-mail the place to let them know that we may be a day or two late. Once they get his headache and sickie feeling under control (without the need for injections) he can come home. Maybe I need to iron and organise some clothes tomorrow. And write a frog list. And print important documents. And get DS2 the (new to him) game boy game I promised him for the holiday. And...
Night night. x0 -
Thank you for understanding.. I know there are so many people who struggle to conceive that may sound heartless but I cant bring myself to think in their situation (no work, 1 bed flat, no stable relationship, no spare money, lile life experience etc) it was just a bad idea.. though I have a feeling they will deliberately be trying ASAP.. silly boy!
MrsC.. I can manage to walk about 20 yards.. I cant even get in the car without help.. heck.. I cant even sit on a dining chair or the hard sofa in the middle room my hips are incredibly painful. I try not to take the boys out together as they go loopy and wander off or just disappear.. OH wont take them on his own as they wont do as he says thanks to KH telling them they dont have to! .. stupid really as it only puts the children in potential danger!
4 weeks and 5 days until school!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tiddles made KH bring her back tonight so she could hug meShe is staying at his until Sunday and said she had to have a hug cos she would miss me! I said she would be too busy having fun to miss me.. though DD3 is going to ring KH on Saturday to see if her and Moomin can stay over until Sunday.. Tiddles is REALLY missing them!
