I've used Avon Skin-so-Soft dry oil body spray (you need soft-and-fresh) for years.

Before it was 'dry', it was very oily, I think it was called bath oil spray.

It was recommended in a little booklet that Thomson sent me with our info on a holiday in Goa back in 1994.

I actually use (in this order):
Original Source Lime shower gel ('cos I like the smell)
after sun with mosquito repellant (Soltan)
    Avon Skin-so-Soft
    Autan Plus mosquito repellant

Be careful if you're staying out after dusk or going on early morning (pre-dawn) trips.

    Keep away from stagnant water.

Try not to sit near foliage in the evening.

Use a plug-in for your room.

I'm very rarely bitten, even when other people seem to have lots of bites.
  • Brilliant - thanks everyone for your help, definitely going to check out this Avon product - sounds like a dream!

I've posted this several times, and can assure you it works

should be get stung by the mossies, rub the inside skin of a bannana over the sting, this will releive any itching/scratching

I was advised of this by my local chemist, several years ago and have used it several times since, it worked a treat
  • oh lord really? What a cheap treat! Cheers!

Get some Lime Original Source shower gel, that also helps and it smells lovely! Available at all places like Boots/Sainsburys etc.
And Boots mozzie repellent, the strong one in a grey bottle.

Hi, is it the Lime one though or the Lemon & Tea Tree Oil one..... or would either do as they are both citrus !!

It's not been called 'Woodland' for quite a few years, it's now called 'Soft-and-Fresh' - but it is the one with the green top. ;)
