I feel your pain Nargle.
Had the same experience earlier in the year.
DS dident quite meet his conditions for uni so we are now in the hell known as clearing.
Eating is out the window and eating rubbish and spending money is last thing on my mind.
Ho hum.Bah.
Sorry to hear about DS Beanie, I went through clearing myself (a number of years ago) so know what it's like.

Nargleblast - I hope it isn't too bad. I had the same happen to me earlier this year. Unfortunately it's worth spending the money to go to someone good - I had one crown that had such sharp edges I kept cutting my cheek.
beanielou - good luck with clearing! You can always try contacting the unis to see if they'll accept the lower grades.
I have to say that despite their rain I'm rather jealous of those up in Edinburgh for the festival. I do love that city... and a good place to have a fab time without spending a penny at this time of year (although the temptations are numerous).
A spend day for me. I nearly got by without but had to pop out to buy sweets for my nephew's birthday party. Hopefully if I run down to the shops now I can stock up with what's needed to get by without spending for the next couple of days.August Challenges: NSD 7/10 £5/day £0/£155

bottleofred - well done on number 4 and lucky you with the sunny weather...it wasn’t too bad here either although a little bit windy
beanielou - number 7! Well done, I would love to be able to go 7 days without spendingOur conservatory roof leaked so we used sealant to solve the problem and it seems to have done the trick - we’ve had a few thundery downpours and it’s still dry
Bad luck for your DS too
phoenix_dragon - well done for number 3 - even if nothing is going in your sealed pot it’s staying in your purse which can only be a good thing
donna dynamo - great news for number 5. I had Mount Ironmore to conquer yesterday and I managed it, but still got more to do todayNever mind, it’s done now although, again, more tomorrow....seems never to end but we must persist

cw18 - I can’t help getting whoopsies sometimes, even if it means ruining an NSDAnd I don’t even have the excuse of working there I actually go in on purpose
jintyb - my Grannie lives close to Edinburgh and when we visit her we always go there, it’s a beautiful cityWhat a lovely sounding afternoon snoozing and reading!
Igamogam - At least you’ve got the dreaded T**co shop out the way and we’ll keep our fingers crossed for number 5 tomorrow
babysteps24 - just take baby stepsSometimes you just have to spend but you’ll get there one NSD at a time x
iwanttogoonholiday - I would be doing what has been suggested as well, iwtgohIf you only spend the bus fare, count it as a NSD, that way you have a more reasonable chance of keeping your purse closed the rest of the day x Also Happy Birthday
Sorry for the essay lovliesAnd I nabbed NSD 4 as well which I thought I might as well pop onto this update even though I already declared it further up the thread

Bad news - there I was at work, minding my own business, chewing on a peanut butter sandwich, when I felt something move inside my mouth. Then my crown dropped out.
That means tomorrow will be spent trying to get an emergency dentist appointment to get it sorted and paying a fortune for the privilege.
Booger booger booger booger booger with brass knobs on!

Hi LittleMissHappy, thanks for your comment although my aim is to have more NSD than a previous grocery challenge last year (more than 17 for August then).
Sorry if I have not been clear. Is it best to update my User Control panel?0 -
Morning!
I declare, I declare, I declare... NSD numero 1 of August firmly in the bag!
Hoping for NSD 2 today, but that depends on the petrol situ, and whether I go to B&Q for the polyfilla. Actually, I'm not going to count that as a spend, as it is necessary for getting the deposit back... so will generate more money in the end. Hopefully. Same goes for bulky item collection by council (SO expensive... but I have a double bed and mattress to get rid of, and an old 3-door ford fiesta in which to do it... even my spacial awareness isn't bad enough to attempt that :rotfl:)“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Nope dannieMy mistake, it says on the first page that you are aiming for 18, I just read on your post 6/7 and thought you meant 6 out of 7 NSD's and not 6 NSD's out of the 7 days of August
