fakeplastictwee wrote: »Thanks everyone for the well wishes for kitty. Been back to the vets with him this morning, seems slightly better although his temperature has gone down which shows it might not be a chest infection, (something worse). Got some more meds to take over the weekend then see how he is, so today is already a spend day. I feel so helpless because he's my mum's cat, she's in the middle of trying to sell her house and find somewhere to live, find a job and generally worrying about money anyway. Could do without him having a heart defect really! But fingers crossed for something less bad.
Oh, what a shame, poor puss and poor you! Keep us posted with progress and we'll do our best to keep your spirits up!
Dont feel helpless, you're doing the very best you can, unfortunately they cant tell us what's wrong!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Awww thanks guys
the vet was finding it hard to X-ray him and listen to his breathing because he wouldn't keep still and shut up. He's Siamese so sounds like a baby when he does his distressed howl :rotfl: Fingers crossed for Monday anyway.

Check me out starting to get the hang of the forum.....I like being able to use fonts and smileys on here. How do you guys get the cool pictures on here though?
NSD #2 for me yesterday, hoping to get another one today. I sometimes make tips at the bar which I usually sub my staff taxi with (costs a few pence extra). Does this count as a spend? I've been counting it up until now but maybe I shouldn't as its a neccessary spend for me to get home from work safely. And if I always use my tips for it then it isn't money from my bank account I suppose, so money I don't have to account for if that makes sense? If i make lots of tips and spend it on silly things then that still counts cuz i could be saving that money for paying off debts like a good girl. :A
Fakeplasticwee- sorry to hear about ur Mum's cat. Fingers crossed that she gets well soon. Siamese are so beautiful but they do get problems don't they from their pedigree nature. We used to have siamese, such lovely cats. Expensive business vet bills too, so muchos hugos for that (((hughughug)))
Rising from the ashes- good luck with ur foot operation, you will be up and about in no time. Look after yourself, and think of all the no spends you can get in whilst ur recovering :T
Spoony- thank you, I had a lovely day and it was spend free. The boyf actually decided to take me out for dinner which was even better!! We went on a 6 mile run so he thought i had earned it. (in training for the Great north Run, Boyf loves running, I HATE it..but getting much better at it)
Little Miss Happy- Hows it all going with DH away? I don't actually know what DH stands for...i am rubbish with my forum abbrehviations..But I thought I would ask how things are going anyway? Are you doing some running too? Hope that your plans are going well and you are not on the beer just yet :rotfl:

Thank youwell she had a siamese before and when she left us she got 2 more and this is the first problem she's had with any of them. Thinking back now, he is a seal point male but he wasn't snapped up by anyone straight away, which is what you'd expect, so I'm wondering if he was the runt. He's incredibly quiet and nervous! They're all gorgeous cats though, very intelligent and loving.

Spend day for me......
Decided I was in desperate (or pretty desperate) need of bread, spread, cold meats and milk. As these are all essentials I decided I couldn't hold off until Monday (the bread could have if I'd put my bread maker on), so I've been out shopping. Also picked up another couple of boxes of the Apple and Blueberry porridge (as well as some instant soups) from B'n'M while I was in there getting my cold meats, plus a box of a different fruit and seed porridge (that needs to be weighed out rather than coming in sachets, but looks and sounds nice) and some grapes from A!di while picking up my bread.
And I've put away some pennies to allow me to stop off as Mr T or Mr A tomorrow for some frozen sweetcorn - can't get anything but 'on the cob' (which I don't like) locally, but will be passing both these stores tomorrow as I'm off up to DDs (elder GD turned 8 on Thursday, but they're only home from their hols this after so it'll be my first chance to see her)..... picking it up depends on whether I leave hers early enough to get to one of the stores before they close, but I'm not making a special trip (and using loads of liquid gold) just for that todayAlso put away enough pennies to pick up a bag of peas if I decide I've enough room in the freezer for both

Awwwww maybe, bless him. They are worth all the trouble that's for sure. i love the howling they make, when i was a teenager and on the phone all the time, my friends always used to ask if there was a baby in the house!! 'Oh no, it's just the cat letting us know he's home' :-)Don't turn a slip up into a give up

Hi,
I'm new to ths thread and I know we're already a week in, but can I please gvie it a go?
I'm aiming for 10 NSDs this month. I won't be countng DDs or the groceries bought on my shopping day (mon) any other groceries will count. This week I have had 1 NSD, hoping today will be another. Thanks x0 -
No NSD here, but hoping for one tomorrow.
Popped to town this morning to get my hair trimmed and have bought some hair dye to do tomorrow. Also got some new tops. :j
Thought it was time to update my appearance a bit, feel I've let myself go a bit lately.
It's my birthday next Saturday and I will prob get some money for that, so that can go towards what I bought today.
Seeing as it started off as a spendy day, we then went grocery shopping and filled up with petrol too. Got a Morrisons voucher with the petrol points card, so that's good.
Two of my friends are away next weekend and have dropped off prezzies for me today, getting excited now! :j
MIL is coming round later and the house is total tip! DH has just started washing up and I'm going to do a bit of a tidy-up soon and must put some washing on too.
(((Hugs))) to anyone who needs one.Hope everyone has a good day. x

Would have been a NSD but a friend told me that Home Bargains had the Toddler Ready Beds in for £10.99, normally they are £35+ so popped into town to get one for when Pip stays at Nannys.
