Let`s hear what is positive about your supplier!

Thanks for reading!

I`m curious to see what the reason are ie. is it all about price? Or are there other reasons?

Please also post who you are with :j

I`m with BG for 3 reasons :)

  1. I work for BG. I believe in their vision and believe that they do want to make a difference. I am part of this effort. The free insulation offer is fantastic in my opinion.
  2. This company is British and is investing in apprentices and the money comes into the British economy. I am proud to say that I work for the country`s leading supplier.
  3. I work in Field Sales and I know that BG have controls in place to make it hard for misselling to take place. I understand that this malpractice may still occur but it is far less likely thanks to the fore sight and investment made. I wouldn`t work for them if this was not the case.

No mis-selling does happen with BG and I need to deal with the practises that your side of the business do, The sooner field sales is ended the easier my job becomes.

You say your with BG what tariff are you on ? ;)

We're with BG for gas only because it's a capped tarriff and relatively cheap.

We're stuck with Scottish Power for 2 years now until we pay off the arrears  Not impressed with them though. They're forever messing up and the arrears were a pain in the bum to negotiate our way through (may I just add the arrears werent even our fault, it was Santander not bothering to send the payment for 3 months!!!)

eon because of price, ease of use of their online services and good customer services with uk call centres simples! Not to mention I feel the agents I speak to are honest with me in all my dealings with them

    Hi Broxis,

I'm currently with EDF on OS7. The reason was price and price alone. The product also included a £100 welcome bonus and a quidco £80. During the winter, the EDF price was held at it's competive level.

There is absolutely nothing else positive to say about it. The billing and customer service operation is basically 'not fit for purpose'.

On a personal level,I will say that EDF have allowed me try and sort out some of the problems with Senior people within the organisation. However, that doesn't excuse the appalling service they have given.

I`m on websaver 11 for gas and websaver 12 for electricity. It changed during my transfer to BG and the gas went through whilst the websaver 11 offer was still on. I didn`t activate a fixed tariff as I`m leaving the UK in October to go back overseas.

BG, and out of inertia more than anything, although we're on prepayment meters and I'm not sure we could swap over to anyone else. I like prepayment so wouldn't want to go onto DD or quarterly billing.

Yes, we do that. It's sooooo handy because our nearest paypoint is a drive away and I'm useless at keeping on top of it! And the electric thing that beeps when it's running out is downstairs form our sitting room so I never hear the bliimin thing!

Hmm this thread is beginning to sound like and advert for British gas -- so here's a balancing comment! We left BG several years ago and prompltly saved ourselves a couple of hundred pounds a year. On that basis alone I would never go back to them. We're now with npower who have proved remarkably easy to deal with, especially given the bad press they get. We quickly get through to a UK callcentre where the staff are helpful and actually seem able to make decisions rather than just reading scripts to fob you off.

We recently got a letter saying that our fix was ending and we would be transferred to standard rate. We called up found a new fix and they dropped the dd by £20 a month and refunded £277 credit without being asked. You do have to keep an eye on your accoount and not automatically trust suggested annual increases but if you are prepared to make a case they actually listen and respond.

You couldn't pay me to go back to BG who I found inflexible, unhelpful and expensive.
Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!
