mum2one - Hi
- normally I'm not too bad..I go to the dentist every 4 months due to some gum problems and will go to the GP when I need to. I've just had so much going on in the last few months thst I've kind of let things slip:o - my check-up is now overdue, and my gums are bleeding, which is my own fault!! I'm also due a smear.....wonder why I've been putting that one off......;)
I never did get round to posting a list for today....but I still managed to get quite a lot done..- Went to see my niece - 9 years old today:j
- Went to the uniform shop, thinking it'd be really busy, but it was fine, everything was in stock and they were really helpful. However, it did set me back a cool £84.75:eek:
- Took DS1 to a party, and then took DS2 &DD to an indoor play place that's just re-opened - £10 for unlimited play (for both).....but it was worth it as it meant DH could get on with the painting in peace.
- 2 loads of washing - 1 has dried, the other will go out first thing tomorrow if it's nice
- Cleared out the drawers next to my bed and a couple of cupboards....plus I cleaned and tided up our bedroom (AKA the 'dumping ground') - now have a basketful of stuff to donate.
- Taken a bag of old clothes to the recycling bin - they would have been no good to anyone...
- Managed to avoid my ironing mountain....thing is, it's growing out of control now!!:rotfl:
As far tomorrow...a trip to IKEA beckons....not intending to buy anything but going along with my sister..will have to report back as to how that ges tomorrow;).....we do need some kitchen blinds as our's have had to be taken down due to finally falling apart...but may hold out for some wooden venetian blinds I think. I also need to do some food shopping over the next couple of days as supplies are dwindling....
Right, am off to check out some other diaries, see what you're all up to!!! :cool:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Haven't been around here for a few days, things have really been getting me down & have felt pretty C**p.
The main thing that's getting to me is my kids and their behaviour and general selfishness & attitude. My eldest has laways been a 'challenge' but this seems to be increasing now that he's that bit older. He thinks he knows it all, won't do as he's told (and I mean simple things like getting himself washed!!) and generally has an appalling attitude! He's not grateful for anything we do for him, and is only really interested in what's in it for him!! The only time he apologises is when he wants something. Don't get me wrong, I love him to bits, but am really struggling to know how to handle this - and I know it'll only get worse as he gets into his teens.
My other two are also going the same way (although not to the same extent) and I'm sure they're copying his behaviour, as they even say things in the same tone of voice he uses!! This is even my DD (age 4!!)
I do despair. Home life is miserable at the moment, and it does make me feel so unhappy. I feels stressed, am having headaches and feel exhausted with it all. Don't know what we've done that's so wrong to make him this way. At school he was a Prefect and was seen as an excellent role model, quiet, always doing the right thing...so I know that he knows what's the right way to behave..that makes it even more frustrating, as he doesn't respect us enough to behave that way at home, unless he wants something of course.
So today I've spent the morning looking at chore/responsibility charts on the internet and have come up with a plan. This will mean chores for all the kids (something they don't do at the moment) and will have clear rewards and consequences. He's already said he's not doing it.....but I've told him we'll be starting it tomorrow, so it's up to him, as he'll be the one that loses out (pocket money, X-Box time etc)
Money wise, I've kind of lost track of things. The summer holidays are so expensive and with that and school uniforms, things are tight - this is something I do need to look at, and will try to sort out exactly where I stand tonight.
My eating habits aren't that great either......:o
All in all....a pretty negative time in the BB house at the moment. Anyone else just wishing the holidays would end???20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Oh dear brummiebabe - sounds like you need Supernanny, lol! The school holidays can be very difficult. It's such a long time & the kids do get bored & frustrated. My two can really drive me mad sometimes with their arguing. I guess you will have to say what you mean & mean what you say so if he does comply he'll get the rewards & if he doesn't then he lose some privaleges. Other than that, take comfort in that we are half way through the school holidays and not too many weeks left now until they are back at school!Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0

Well after a negative few days, things have been better today!! Despite DS1's objections yesterday he's thrown himself into filling in his chart today - part of his jobs were to sweep the kitchen floor & clean the sink - both of which he's done. DS2 & DD have happily done their jobs too - for DS2 it's more about making him more independent - he's constantly saying he can't do things, but with this chart hopefully he'll realise he can!! DD is only 4, but she's loving it as her reward was 3 bedtime stories (she's easily pleased!!)
So I'm feeling a little better today, the house is relatively tidy, the main jobs are done, so it means I can chill out a bit:)
My eating's been a bit better too today, am going to weigh myself tomorrow but I don't expect to have lost anything really. Have had a lovely day today - the boys went to the last day of their football camp & I took DD to meet up with some friends at an indoor play place. Chance for a catch up with friends whilst the girls played happily!! We ended up staying for 4 hours!! Needless to say DD has gone to sleep very quickly tonight!
Tomorrow DH and the boys are off to watch the football (concessionary tickets:money:) and DS' friend is sleeping over. I'll try to spend some quality time with DD - she's got a workbook to complete before she starts school in September, so we'll have a go at that.
Haven't assessed the money situation yet.........20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Good morning, am awake stupidly early as the kids are all awake & playing (a bit noisily!!). I don't mind though, at least they're playing together. I was up until stupid o'clock putting a few things on eBay - I go through phases with it, but have some decent stuff to put on, so had to give it a go. I find it boring & tedious (don't we all) but am hoping to bring in a few extra pennies. These will go towards the credit card bill
Right, to try & get myself back on track, am going to write a list of my plan for today:-
1. Dig out DD's pushchair, wash covers if needed, photograph & list on eBay
2. Find instructions for roof bars, check all attachments are there, photograph & list on eBay
3. Ditto with daughter's tap shoes (although they obviously don't need instructions/attachments ;-) )
4. Make sure kids are using their responsibility charts
5. Washing/ironing (boring, but necessary)
6. Search for other eBay bits.....
7. Spend some time reading
8. 3 meals, no snacks!!
Am back at work next week & not looking forward to it. Will be a busy few days as I've got lots to catch up on. Am only in for 5 more days over the summer holidays so everyday is going to be crammed!!!
Right off to weigh myself then have my first cup of tea of the day.

Good luck with all your plans today x0 -
Well done on the weight loss. Stick to your guns with DS1 - I know it is really difficult, but if you stay strong he will learn a valuable lesson. And them helping out should make your life slightly easier.
Just to let you know you have given me a kick start. I need to stop spending quite so much time on the computer (usually doing nothing of any consequence). I began reading this and then went and sorted some jobs I have been putting off! And now I feel much more positive so I am going to turn off the computer and get more stuff done - hopefully you have set me off on an upward spiral - so many thanks. I may check back later, just to see how you are going on you understand...0 -
Hey y5d - thanks for dropping by!! Glad that my random rattlings have struck a chord with others too. Post a list of your achievements - I find that helpful too (and then I don't feel so bad about spending some time on here;))
So I've washed the pushchair covers & straps and they're drying nicely on the line. Typical, DD hasn't been in the pushchair for around a year but has wanted to play with it all day, now I want to sell it:rotfl: Have had to tell her she's a big school girl now & school girls don't go in the pushchair!!
Have also walked with DS1 on the route he would go to school (if he decides to walk it) so at least he knows the route now. Thing is, it took a good half an hour & we're not sure he'll want to do that every day. So tomorrow we're going to bus it & see what he thinks. It'll still mean a 10 minute walk, but will probably be the better option. So have had a good brisk walk for an hour or so, exercise thrown in.......bonus:T
Right, have had lunch now need to crack on!:)20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
