Erm....time for a new plan me thinks...

  • Well it's been a good few weeks since I've posted, so thought I'd try to give a bit of an update, more for my benefit really....

Blackpool was great...weather wasn't great, but the kids enjoyed it regardless and we had a great laugh...luckily my sister and my DH get on well, so staying in one caravan was fine. We didn't overspend either...always a bonus!!

I've done a good chunk of my Christmas shopping, but got to wait until payday to do any more. So far I've got:

SIL - nice wine glass (from the book man at work - around £5)
BIL - chili lover set (NEXT - £10)
Great nephew 1 - books from Book man at work - around £4
    Great nephew 2 - as above - around £4
Aunt & Uncle - nice tin of biscuits - £10
3 nephews - gift set from Boots £8 each
    Niece - set of nice make-up brushes - £10

DD - various pressies (barbie sets, craft stuff, DVD, dolls) and VTech Innotab (pink.....impossible to buy in shops at the moment...had to get from Ebay so paid a bit more than shop price...but am glad I got it!!)
DS 1 & 2 - haven't really started yet......DS1 keeps changing his mind as to what he wants (either a Blackberry or a scooter)....DS2 I think wants a bike...need to take him to have a look at a few first..

So I still have lots to get, but really don't want to go into any further debt over Christmas, so am waiting for payday...normally I'd put it on the credit card with the intention of paying it straight back, but then overspending and not being able to clear the card...)

Money wise - things are kind of OK. Not fantastic, but OK. 2 weeks until payday and am hoping we won't go too overdrawn.....I think we might be slightly OD, but not by more than £50 or so.

DS1 has come home with a letter about a residential at the end of this school year.....£420!!!! He wants to go...but we've said that he may need to pay £200 from his savings account (he doesn't have direct access to this) and we'll pay the rest. He wasn't impressed....but is more than happy for us to spend our money!!

Saving for our holiday is kind of on hold until after Christmas..then it needs to kick in like crazy as we've got to get passports too!!

Aside from money stuff.....kids are now settling into school and DS1 is beginning to sort himself out, rather than relying on us to do it. Think this was helped by him having a detention last week for forgetting his PE kit....his first proper detention!!

Am trying to lose a bit of weight too (AGAIN!!) - very nearly hit the 10st mark, and that would be the heaviest I've ever been when not pregnant!! I really don't want to hit that number....so am trying to cut down and eat a bit more healthily. Didn't quite work tonihgt though, when DH came back with chips and I had a chip butty...it was very nice though!!

Right, need to iron a couple of things for tomorrow so am heading off now...will really try to check in more regularly than I have been.

    TODAY'S SPENDS

    £35 petrol - budgeted for:T

Have planned to go out for lunch tomorrow with a few of the girls (and a male 'honorary girlie') - work is very busy and stressful and we need a bit of time and space to have a good moan!! Should only be around £5 though:)
