She'll be 5 in a fortnight. That's why I was surprised it had started - she's only in Reception!! I am going to have a chat with her teacher tonight. I know it's a problem you do get with girls, but I at least want the teacher to be aware. Thing is , DD can be a bit 'in your face' and I do have to tell her she needs to give people a break sometimes. I think what I'm trying to say is that I know DD isn't perfect & that she may not be totally innocent...that's why I feel I need to discuss it with her teacher - they may have a very different view of things!!

Sounds daft but better to nip it in the bud now, teachers will have seen it all over the years, at least you'v gone into it willing to have both sides. Hope it went ok. xx

Thanks mum2one - parent's evening was ok. Teacher wasn't aware of any particular issues in class as they seem to be good friends...seems it's more outside of the classroom. There have been issues with DD - not listening, talking to people when she should be listening etc. Teacher has encouraged them to not sit together...so don't know if that's where some of this is coming from. Friend has been saying loudly to her grandmother "I don't want to sit with.." and then ignoring DD before and after school.

Think we're going to have some issues with DD - she's very confident..but not always in a good way!! Thinks she's knows it all, makes smart comments etc....her teacher has talked to her about this and we've tried too....hopefully it'll settle down after half-term.

    Kids eh..who'd have 'em:rotfl:

  • Glad it wasn't too bad. You can't really win with kids can you - don't want them to be too shy or lacking in confidence but don't want them to be overly confident either! It's all a learning curve though & part of growing up so you can only do your best in teaching & guiding them. Chin up - it could have been a lot worse!

Are you sorted for her birthday now?

It's one thing she's consistently said she wants for months...I put off ordering it before in case she changed her mind. Now I'm just hoping it comes in time......

It's the 3rd November.....there's time yet...they said 1-2 weeks (Play.com) so hopefully it should arrive in time!!

Right, it's Saturday....plans for today include:

    1) DD to dancing
    2) washing/ironing/housework
    3) Get pressie for a party tomorrow (more money:()
    4) Go & see SIL .....she only lives 15 minutes away, but we haven't seen her in ages.....
    5) May have to get DD some shoes for outside school ...she's been wearing her croc slip on shoes, but now the weather's turned, she could do with something more suitable - more money again.....

Seems there's always stuff that's needed when you've not got the money. I'm hoping for a good pay packet this month, as I've claimed 3 months mileage ...so hopefully I can get somewhat back on track!!
