Have had a lovely day though, sat in the garden with my mate drinking tea whilst the kids played. :rotfl:Very little done in the BB house today!!! I have dried a load of washing on the line and cleaned the kitchen floor. I've also sorted out DD's clothes into piles and have put some of them in a charity bag which is being collected tomorrow:T
A buyer came and paid for my pushchair, so that was cash in my hand...only £31 but better than nothing!!!:money:
Tomorrow is another busy-ish day. We've got the gardener coming to chop back all the hedges/trees in the back garden....expensive but needs doing. I do have this money put to one side though, so it's not going on credit!! I'm also looking after my niece, my nephew is going to take my DS1 on a few bus journeys to get him used to the routes etc. My DD is going to play at a friends, so I need to drop her off there too!!!

Blimey brummiebabe, that's a fantastic amount to be able to save in one month! You are sounding very organised & on top of things. Could you throw some of your motivation my way please?!
The Haven deal sounds good. Do you know, much as my son enjoyed his 1st week abroad this year in Ibiza, he still missed the 2p machines at Haven!Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -
Ah Long tall Sally - that would be a great amount to save if I'm able to do so - somehow I don't think it'll happen (having looked at the state of my accounts.). I'll know more when I look at all my budgets, but I don't think I'll manage to save that much this month.....:(
Well it's Friday already.....hopefully my lads are out with my brother today & DD is going to a friends so I'm using my child free time to take my mom out. She has only recently had her plaster taken off after breaking her ankle. Think she's been a bit stir crazy stuck in the house (with my dad:rotfl:) and is desperate to go to the shops!!! So we'll have a potter round, go for a coffee and generally have a nice day. Just hope my brother is still taking them out.....it's raining a little here.
Don't intend to do much around the house today, will have a tidy up & a vacuum round.
What's everyone else up to today? Whatever you're doing, have a good one!!!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Ok...so have done my budget for this month & am having to rethink my plans drastically!!!! By payday I was £350 overdrawn .....and it's a 5 week month....& August has been a mega expensive month!!! So there's very little chance of saving anything this month:eek: I have had to rethink & will use September to get back on track. If I can get to the end of September and be living within my means, then I can start afresh in October. Need to sit down with DH tonight & to go through everything....he really needs to be on board too;)20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Ah well, you were £150 less overdrawn than we were this month so consider yourself well off, lol! This was mostly caused however by Tesco taking out my car insurance renewal which they seemed to wack up from last year in one lump sum. I had meant to look around for a cheaper deal & typically disorganised old me forgot & then nearly died when it came out of the bank account on top of our spending on holiday. Only consolation is that it is obviously paid now for the year whereas I would have put it monthly had I actually got round to doing anything about it!
September needs to be a "try & get back on track" month for me too. The kids & I had a McD today before we went food shopping & I told them that that was the last treat for quite a while. Back to school & knuckling down to lots of hard work, I kept telling them much to their delight, not!
Hope you had a nice day out with your Mum.Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -
September is definately budget month. We've got no spare cash, but will be able to put a little towards the credit cards/savings. I've spoken to DH and he agrees with the plan to buckle down this month then get on with saving next month.
Have been shopping today....lots of Value stuff in the trolley....came in at £80...but that included bits & pieces for school lunches which I've hidden away
Have managed to do bits of housework (washing, cleaning the bathroom and grocery shopping) but at least that's less to do tomorrow.20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

So, today's spending:
- Morrisons £80.01
- 50p car parking
- £1.91 Wilkinson (groceries)
- £1.15 milk (pre shopping trip)
- £1.73 vegetables (pre shopping trip)
Can't do anything about it I suppose, so just need to focus on making changes in the month ahead. Think I need to take on board DH's suggestion of taking a calculator round the supermarket with me.....
This weekend's plans include:- Clean the lounge
- Clean boys' bedroom:eek:
- Meal at a friend's house on Saturday night:j
- Both sons have got a friendly footy match on Sunday....really hope the weather improves:cool:
- Keep up with ironing/washing

Good morning all....hope everyone's having a nice weekend so far. Weather is looking like it might brighten up, it's stopped raining anyway, so that's something!
Have counted up my 50p purse today and it was upto £5. I'd also managed to put aside another £7 - so have paid £12 off my M&S card this morning. Along with the £20 I paid yesterday (my regular monthly payment) - that's £32 paid off with no effort at all!! Am very pleased with this, and will continue my 50p saving, it's something that's achievable for me...I can't do the £2 coin saving at the moment....
I used the actual coins to pay the kids pocket money/dance fees...then transferred that money from my current account to my credit card...it's a bit difficult paying 50p coins over the internet!!:rotfl:Saves me having to find the change for the kids pocket money anyway....
Have just had a letter from Thomas Cook to remind me that the remaining deposit will be taken from my credit card soon..think it's the 8th September....that'll be another £622.50:eek: - but once that's paid, I'll transfer everything to my new Barclaycard ....interest free for 22 months:T - then I'm really going to try to get the figure down.....as well as saving the rest of the holiday balance, paying for Christmas, DD's birthday...the list goes on......
Am feeling more positive today
. DH seems to be on board too, so hopefully between us we can save extra bits throughout the month.
Today's list:
Clean lounge/hall & stairs
Clean boys bedroom
Washing and keep up with ironing
Low spend day...didn't buy washing up liquid and have run out:mad:
Meal at my friends' tonight:D
Clean kitchen windows (they really need it!!)
General tidy up
Label both DS' uniform, check we have everything, as DS1 starts senior school on Friday!
Really hope everyone has a great day. Have caught up with Hovel lady's diary this morning.....thinking of you x20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
