Not sure. If you need it to be with them quite quickly, or if there are other documents enclosed then think about sending it special delivery, costs a bit more but for the peace of mind......
If it is just stamps you are looking for then I would probably still go into the post office just to be sure"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

Mine was around £5 I think but there were three lots of application forms in etc and all the pics and things. Best to go to the PO to be sure. Can't remember which service I used though, signature on delivery etc.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. Best to go to a Post office and use special delivery which will be about £4.50 depending on the weight.

I sent my last one with a normal small letter 1st class stamp but that was a first application so apart from the form there were only two other bits of paper and photos enclosed. The other one I sent had to be weighed as it had an old passport enclosed and so was over the 5mm thickness which made it a large letter. I have never bothered with special delivery etc and not had a problem. Turnaround at the moment is very quick. If in doubt visit the post office.Middlers0

I work at the Post Office in Stafford. You're first option is to use the PO's check and send service. It costs £7 as well as the cost for your passport renewal. Its advantageous because not only do we check through your forms and make sure everythings correct, its secure and we guarentee the passport back to you within 2 weeks.
If you wanted to send it yourself you would only be covered for the contents going missing if you used Special Delivery (this is insured up to £500). Signed for would only cover you up to £32 which is less than the cost of a passport.
Otherwise, sizewise the passport application form would go as a normal letter as long as its under 100g, so normal first or second class stamp!!
Pricing in Proportion makes it a littely bit complicated, but I hope this helps!!0
