Don't let this put you off posting.

Some people benefited from your posting and if it was not for you and people like you posting they would not have got their goods.

We loose some and we win some. :)

    :(

i feel really bad now for posting this.

stock in south manchester has been ok and i haven't had any problems.

i wonder if some of the staff have kept items for themselves?

Don't feel bad, it was a good deal and I think we all appreciate you taking the time to post it.

All my items were cancelled too, despite still showing in stock 24 hours later. Really not good enough from such a major retailer.
  • A big thank you to the OP.... Great find, keep looking and posting. keep up with the good work :):):)
  • i managed to get the coolbox and the beach shelter, tho did get message after reserving that the gas cannisters were out of stock. no surprises from b & q about misleading stock quantities!

very happy with what i got! best £10 ive spent in b & q!

    thanks fellow money savers.

there's still stock available according to their website...i'd reserve online and contact them before picking up your items.

the early reports were :( but looks like a few people managed to get some bargains. :)

and don't worry, i will keep posting bargains; when i come across them! :)

i think i'm on to a really good money saver with groupon. it's basically a way of getting loads of free credit; without having to rely on referrals. i'm still kind of experimenting with the whole thing. all will be revealed in the next few days.......

Well I got to the Lakeside branch to collect the tent. They found some of the bits I'd reserved, and some they told me they didn't have, but no tent!
So they phoned around the store to see if it had been put somewhere it shouldn't have, no joy. Then they checked the stock on the system, turns out they should have had 31 in stock but couldn't find any.

I wasn't happy, had done a 20 mile round trip after being assured the tent was there.

To cut a long story short the fella on the till and some of the staff were really apologetic and helpful and I came away with said tent and some gas cannisters that they told me weren't in stock :j:j . Many thanks OP.
  • At Manchester Fort (North Manchester) i managed to collect what i'd ordered no problem.so thankyou again and really don't feel bad!it was funny cos in the "Reserve and collect" cupboard it was just loads of the cheap camping stuff so i reckon some other MSE-ers took a trip there today too ;)

    Just sent of my rant;

Hi I recently saw your great deals on camping equipment and coupled with a good offer we could get on a tent thought this would be a great little package to help us get away in the holidays. However following my reservation was told to collect sat morn. I travelled 20 miles to get to store only to find that there is no stock!! What is the point of having this service if it is not controlled properly. I have looked online again today and the items that i ordered are STILL showing as in stock and available, I find this to be a wholly unacceptable level of service from a major UK retailer. I shall remember in the future to look elsewhere for click and collect/collect in store service as you are obviously unable to operate yours to any level of customer satisfaction

Brilliant.... keep us posted as to any responce you MAY get. Probably not if it's anthing like the click and collect service they do!!!!
Brilliant find OP btw, and not your fault at all that BnQ have such a shoddy stock control and system of reserving items.
I managed to get about half my items... in the end!!!! Some had been put in a cupboard, not with any name on, so anyone who had reserved them at any time could have ben given them. No £5 tent put away, customer service says 6 showing in stock, me so shattered after a day at work I asked if member of staff could look for me. He came back and said none on shelf. Ok, fair enough, so I thought i'd take a quick look to see what they HAD got..... and oh look, a £5 tent, and in the right place!!!! Oh well, at least I got one.
Perhaps someone should point BnQ in the direction of this thread!!!!
