Call and speak to someone... they won't judge and they will listen.

  • Hi getmeoutof this

As whitewing said, please please do sit down and have a good read of the Mental Health and Debt Guide and call one of the debt help charities.

Meanwhile, I'm going to have to close the thread but pop me a PM if you want to chat.

    Take care

    Andrea :)

    Business Debtline charity.

Come and tell us how you are doing.

This is all solveable. The important people are you, your wife and your children. Everyone else is just peripheral when you are not well. The thoughts you are having are not good but with help from the gp, you can tackle this problem without having suicidal thoughts. So please don't think that you 'deserve' to have them.

You can email the Samaritans too - that may help. I certainly find it easier to type than talk when I am distressed.

Remember too that it can be difficult to get across to people just how bad you are feeling. If you see the Dr write it down, and see if you can get referred to counselling - that will help you find solutions.

You need to take care of yourself to take care of your circumstances. However you feel about yourself, I can promise you that your children need YOU - there are no substitutes for you. And a kind, caring parent can make such a difference on a daily basis throughout someone's life, not just childhood. I have a dad, but he is never interested in anything I do. I have missed having interested parents more in the past few years (getting married, having a baby, setting up a business, relocating 100 miles) that I ever did as a child. If you commit suicide, your children will ache for you forever.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Update from the OP on this thread, in case anyone was worrying.

I posted a thread yesterday saying how I was at my wits end last night, and I was thinking of doing something very silly.

    forums moneysavingexpert. com/showthread.php?t=3389938

I am really sorry if it caused anybody any distress. I was at a real low and couldn't see a way out. Thanks for all your comments.

Well last night my wife came home, and saw me as a complete wreck. I think it scared the !!!! out of her, to be honest. I spoke in detail to her, and I think she was just relieved it was about 'cash'.

She said we'll sort it. My Dad will wait for his cash, although it his very high on my list to pay him back. Then, out of the blue this morning, a loan application that I'd made, was accepted, at a really low rate. So I can pay those decent people back, who entrusted me with their cash.

Without sounding too emotional, it was as if a Guardian Angel grabbed me from deaths door last night. Then he/she worked wonders around the clock, to give me the loan (which we can afford just) and also give me breathing space with my Dad. I paid £200 into his bank this morning, as a gesture. He really is a great guy.

Now looking forward to my hols. Still a really heavy heart, but feeling as if the world on my shoulders, arent quite as heavy today.

    Cheers everybody.
