Just £3.46 to add from ebay this week - lots of things listed but nothing selling:mad:

Also, my weekly saving of £25 from stopping my cleaner can be added today.

I NEED to try matched betting. Maybe I will go and read it through again.....

Okay, thanks to WoA's very, very kind PM to all the non-starters last week, I'm officially starting. I've been engrossed in lots of non-Challenge stuff - my accounts were a nightmare this year, I'm definitely finishing them in September this time.... then my professional re-accreditation paperwork had to be done..... and I'm trying to spend 3 hours a week digging in the garden (which has 3 years overgrowth in it  )...

Anyway, my current level of response to the bronze challenge is this:
    - home insurance renewal - £82 saved
    - pigsback - £9 allocated to me
    - train fare today, £13.20 saved, I had to cancel a seminar I was attending in London, because of the snow.
    Total: £104.20.
Its not sitting anywhere on its own, but its real.

    What to do now?

    1) I have to sort some more figures for my English accountant: she can tell me whether its better to pay off a loan for an investment property from savings, or get the money into a better savings account and have a tax loss - I love Martin's article on paying off debt with savings, but because of the tax loss thing, which saves me tax, it might not be such a good idea for me. The tax loss was tiny this year just gone, however, and will be smaller next year because of the capital repayments made on the loan, so we'll see.

    2) check out the ideas post at the beginning of this thread - at the moment, I'm thinking amazon selling and matched betting, tho I don't know if I can quite hack those with everything else thats going on.

Hurray! A few of my ebay items will sell, with some still 6 days to go :) Others have not even been looked at ! :) Amazon item sold - will update with total left after posting later.

Am going to list loads more on ebay tonight - not sure if to do them 3 day listing or 10 in order to get them finishing on Sun night - anyone?

  • I have made nothing so far this week...no ebay, no Amazon, diddly squat.:(

Really should get into matched betting.
  • Hurrah sold two items on ebay yesterday, both have been paid for, so thats another £11 towards the total, will update signature at the end of the week, as hoping to raise a bit more.:j

ohhhh Just checked Free Fivers (forgotten about it completely) and found I've got £16.89 there. Obviously it's unlikely I'll be able to cash this in before the end of the challenge (I think you have to get to £25 and I only ever click on the freebies!) but I'll count it towards my total as it *is* there.

I just added £50 to my total as was able to save £50 this week, which had I not been on this challenge I prob would have spent so it really is helping me focus!

I am now at 9% and still on target for the £1,007 by July 07.

For those of you out there who use R Points and Cashback Rewards, I have recently started using both of these sites and I am finding that my cashback does not appear to be updating, even though my cashback is being tracked ok and I have logged in from 3 different computers.
Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe I am just too impatient. I am used to Greasy Palm and generally they are quite quick to update.
    Thanks:rolleyes:

2 items on ebay went well last night - turns out I didn't just have lots of people with similar items to sell. One's paid already. Still waiting for the cheque for the items sold on Sunday. Will update sig when things have been posted.

Got a nice surprise this morning in the post, I complained to Innocent about smoothie leakage last summer and got a box of smoothies and was promised a £10 gift card which never arrived. Discovered the email again last week and emailed to say I'd never got it (which was a bit cheeky as it was about 7 months ago) they replied to say they had sent it but would send another and today I got a £10 tesco gift card and a smoothie book. Already have the book so this ones going on amazon so that will hopefully be more money for the challenge.

Still not getting very far though - really wanted to break the £100 barrier this week - here's hoping
