Am not a happy bunny.....I messed up a matched bet and just as I realised and went to correct it, my 'pooter crashed.........by the time I got it back up, the event had finished and I finished £70 down.

Advice to newbies considering matched betting......check, read, check, read and check again.....mistakes can and do get made. Matched betting is great when it goes right, and flippin awful when you get it wrong. Don't rush in....take your time....there'll always be another event.

Ouch! That is tough. I had a nasty one where the bet I had layed was withdrawn before I could place it - but I managed to back it at BF and only lost about £6. What happened to you is why I tend to avoid live markets - not brave enough to take the time pressure. Hope you make it back quickly.

I have faith in myself to make it back - I'm very disciplined and tend not to take chances (well....not toooooo many :D ). But apart from the sickening realisation that you've just lost a PHYSICAL amount of money and not just a number on a screen, it's horrible putting a red figure into a lovely black spreadsheet!!!!

Onwards and upwards....on the positive side, it was free money I lost.:o

    Hi guys...

Sorry I've not been around, unfortunately I'm going to have to drop out of the challenge for the time being. I'm being made redundant, so have loads to sort out with that plus I am relocating and have just started an open university course!!

    Good luck to you all...

    Jo :)

I'll pop by now and again, still need to pay off my debts!! :)

I'm doing 'Start Writing Essays' - it starts tomorrow but I need to get going as I found out I'm on holiday the week of the last assignment, typical!

But there is some good news as well... I have got back with an ex partner from 4 years ago, I'm very happy and planning to move back to Kent to set up home with him hopefully! The redundancy has come at a good time and I expected it so all is good... I just don't have much time to concentrate on challenges at the moment.

    :D
  • Hi al,

Leanne has kindly sent me in the spreadsheet and I want to join the challenge.

Confused about what to put in the yellow big box - is is the money I have left per month after all my bills are paid x 12? Or is it my actual net income per month?

  • Where does the rules committee stand on boots/tesco points etc - ie. if I spent the points instead of money on something I would have bought anyway, or used vouchers does that count as money saved? Sorry if this has been asked, I tried to check but 73 pages is a bit daunting!

Miss Muppet - lovely news, congratulations! Good luck with everything :)
