  • I've now got 8 items on ebay, 2 are selling (£3.69, woo!), 1 has a watcher the other 5 are looking a bit sad :o

At least I did my bit for society today :A ... There was talk on my local radio station about re-claiming bank charges so I e-mailed them the link to our favourite website and they read it out on air. Lots more claims going in I hope!

Lots of my friends are claiming theirs too after listening to me waffling on about my own claim. They're claiming about 3K altogether. I should charge an advising fee, I could use the money towards my challenge :D
    Bank charges refund £158
    Total debts [strike]£3772[/strike]
Debt free (except for mortgage) for since 2008 thanks to this site :D

This week I've cancelled my films sent to home thing, so that's saved for remainder of challenge! Decided last month that I wasn't using it enough and when I was they were at least 1 per month faulty. Will also start putting my old DVD's and CD's onto amazon so hopefully they'll go slowly and surely.

Was expecting a cheque as I travelled far for an interview before Christmas, was expecting the cheque in another couple of weeks but had a cheque in post today and I'm glad to say it was worth going!

I've banked my mortgage pig, and I paid for my course on my Amex to be told that I'd incur a fine for going over limit - then was told now I've got double the previous limit so I've managed to get the charges back on my fine too! :j

Between them all (mainly films / interview) I've put £265.24 towards the challenge this week and my brother's supposedly sending my Christmas money (year 2006 one) tomorrow to arrive on weekend (he may've sent it by end of challenge ). So I've doubled my total to date! :j

Some things on ebay sold too, but they'll be in next week's total.
  • Well we are getting close to the end of week 4 (the first month of the challenge is nearly over!)

To reach target by midnight on saturday we need:
    Bronze £154.92
    Silver £308.77
    Gold £461.54

    Good luck everyone!

Oh and dont worry if we havent reached these amounts, we still have plenty of time to catch up! :)

Note to self: need to find more ways to make money!!
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!
  • I was doing really well but am feeling a bit low this week and find myself falling by the wayside. COuld do with some motivating and maybe a kick up the butt if anyone has the inclination?

But you're doing brilliantly - have raised over 20% of your total before the end of the 1st month! Can you do some more of whatever it was you were doing for the past couple of weeks? :)

Not too much luck with eBay - 19 auctions ended today only 1 sale! But made something on a matched bet too so have in total £25.15 to add.
  • Hi guys,
Hope everyones well and doing well. Spendaholic chick....stick a big picture of something you would want to buy with the money you plan on earning/saving on this challenge somewhere prominent, put it somewhere you walk past several times a day. I have a spreadsheet which is my money plan for the next 2 years and the big red highlighted firgure I have in the 2009 opening balnace box is enough to keep me going!!!! I look at it several times a day, mainly to keep checking that it hasn't changed and that the figures are not wrong somewhere!! My mum thinks I have OCD!!!

Well not much to report really. I am hoping to get £50 through quidco at some point, opened a citibank account through them last night but not sure how long that will take. I tried to reduce my phone contract this afternoon but will now get charged a £25 admin fee for doing so  So decided not to do it straightaway and will sit and work out benefits/downsides later.
Oh and my dear ex has decided that his 2 transit van size pile of stuff in the garage is mainly junk and he only really wnats the tools....I have at least a transit full of stuff to flog!! :j Told him I'd stick it on freecycle to save him carting it to the tip!! :A "Money money money" :rotfl:
  • Thanks guys, I never thought of it like that! Just having a roughweek and spose I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself and so haven't done anything towards the challenge this week! I have a stack of stuff to list on ebay but have no energy to do so. Will buck up for next week!
