Off to get sticky note

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday, 29th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Couldn't find the daily thread so I thought I'd start it. Have a good day all, cheers, Silver x

    Morning all
Overcast here today so far but I've hung the washing on the line anyway. I have a pile of ironing to do, but no more washing & I need to sew a button on hubby's trousers.
Yesterday I cleared my floordrobe & dusted & vacuumed our bedroom, I also sorted my clothes out & moved all the winter clothes to the spare room. Today's task is to sort the spare room out, I shall have the CD player on playing something cheerful to keep me going.
DD1 & I are are babysitting tonight for DD2, SIL phoned me yesterday to ask & she doesn't know, it's a secret, she'll be ready to go out as she thinks she's coming out with DD1 & I. I'm taking a picnic for DD1 & I to eat & a couple of bottles of posh fizzy to drink.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning my lovelies :D

The first week of the summer hols nearly over. Been a success so far this week I think :) Breaking out the papier mache for the kids today
H working late tonight so will have makeshift for tea.
Not much else to report, took kids to soft play yesterday, not going again in hols as the kids there were vile, pushing, biting and generally unpleasant and they were younger!!

Hugs and spoons all round, have a good day OS or not.

    Morning everyone

Overcast here this morning, hopefully the sun will get out later. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. DH still has man flu but seemed a bit better last night.

DS2's last day at summer school today, can't believe that's the first week of the hols gone already. Managed to get the ironing pile done yesterday, there is some more so will endeavour to get that done today. After I've dropped DS2 off at summer school I will be going to the scales, bank and to do a food shop, will try to fit in some baking/cooking too, although I do still have some treats in the tins (boys have spent 2 nights & days away - there's not normally anything left at this point in the week!!).

Have had problem with trying to save info onto a memory stick via the usb points on the front of the computer tower, and DS1 needs to be able to do this for some of his exam coursework that he will start in September so spoke to our local computer shop and repair chap, he's looked at it and fixed it also gave it a clean out and didn't charge me - result! :j:j:j

Should be going away at the weekend but now not going, but DH and boys are going out tomorrow afternoon/early evening - so I will get chance to do some stuff at home - not sure what yet but I'm sure I will find something! Did run the hoover round the house yesterday and cleaned bathrooms, also managed to hoover and then scrub the kitchen floor.

Feel a bit brighter than my cba mood yesterday, hope I can stay with this and not slip down the slippery slope as have been off the meds for 2-3 months now. :):):)

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good morning

Today I will be mostly putting things away as the pile of [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] useful things in the hallway has grown again. I need to make some cakes as I didn't get round to that yesterday.

I knitted a baby for the house elf on Tuesday from a Jean Greenhowe pattern, and now his friend wants one too, so that's another thing to add to the "to do" list.

I'm thinking pasta bake for dinner as that will also make a few freezer portions for lazy or busy days. It looks like it's going to pour down soon, so I've booted the cats outside to have a run round the garden before the rain comes.

Halight Hope twin one is better and that nobody else gets what she had.....

    Take care all of you

Morning all ,thanks for the heads up anniestar but where would I find the time to write a book with all my tribe to sort out :):)and No Thos. Cook were totally dismissive of the fact that they had charged me nearly 200 quid booking fee .To add insult to injury they actually phoned me up a little while ago and asked if I was interested in a booking with hotel for the bl**dy Olympics.Needless to say he got sent off with a flea in his ear as well.

Today at the moment I'm not a happy bunny.I have tried 6 times to get to my online banking and although I keep putting the correct info in and all the boxes keep getting ticked it keep throwing me out again Grrrr I am going to have a few choice words to say to the bank this morning HSBC and their bl**dy key I will tell them where to deposit it if I don't get satifaction this morning The reason I have online banking is so I don't have to trail over to queue up to speak to some moronic 12 year old lad who wants to sell me insurance.Sparks will be flying today.Ringing them up was a waste of time and money as wellI am not sitting in a queue for half an hour, not when its costing me money
No doubt peace love and light will be resumed at some point today in my world but at the moment its a bit Grrry IYSWIM.
I think I'll take the boys for a car ride today maybe to Herne Bay and blow the cobwebs away with a walk along the front and a bag of chips.I know how to enjoy myself :):)
But first I shall go and kick a$$ at the bank.
Only 16 more days till our holiday, eldest DD has reported via her magic-gadget from Lanzarote that they arrived and are sitting by the pool sipping drinks. Its so easy to go off folk isn't it :):)
Right time for some fuel injection of caffeine and maybe a toasted banana sandwich (might put me in a sunnier mood)
have a good day folks and be glad you don't work in my local bank :):)

    Morning Folks.

Very grey and miserable looking here, but I am being optimistic and got a load of bedding in the WM. It will go out on the line anyway.

Dinner tonight was going to be BBQ ribs & stir-fry. DH in his wisdom decided that he knows best and bought 1 small rack of ribs for three adults. Sometimes I cannot fathom his way of thinking. His brain is definitely wired differently to mine. He splashes out on ridiculous gadgety things and then scrimps on more important things! Bah humbug! We will now have cottage pie from the freezer. We need to make space in the freezer anyway to make way for the tomatoes:)

Anyhoo, have a good day peeps. Hugs to all who need or want.
    Cheers m'dears, Silver x
