I'm on a countdown of 22 days - off on the 30th :) Four nights in Las Vegas and then 10 days on the road doing Bryce, North rim Grand Canyon and Zion.

Once again thanks to Bazlovejoy for reporting that hotels.com site was screwed and showing silly prices for a few hours in Feb (back on page 9 of this thread). Phoned the Wynn yesterday to double check and everything is hunky dory, much much cheaper than it really should be and also just got the Quidco cashback paid too. Full points to hotels.com too for taking their error on the chin and honouring it... unless, of course, they just didn't notice :D

    Hi all you vegas fanatics!

Wondering if i could ask some advice?

My husband and I are off to NY and Vegas in November, and although i have booked the flights and NY hotel, i am yet to book a LV hotel.

I have my heart set on the Bellagio, but will settle for Treasure Island if Bellagio is too expensive.

My question is... when do they best rates for hotels come around? Ive got a few websites for special offers bookmarked, but a lot of them dont seem to be discounted room rates...more 'free stuff/discounted shows' kind of offers... plus, November seems a bit too far in advance for any offers.

At present the Bellagio is far more than we can afford, and TI is a little more than i was wanting to pay (would rather spend all our money on shopping, helicopter rides, and the incredibley expensive hotel in new york!) Ive signed their guestbook thingies online, but havent recieved any email offers either!

Should i book nearer the time?

PS (im not overly keen on the idea of not booking til we get there.. esp since ive read we need to give an address of residence to immigration on arrival to america!)

    Thanks!

Whatever you do, do not wait until you get there to book! That could be the most tragic thing, ever. :)

It is too early for November deals, but you can have a look here:

    http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/index.php/category/las-vegas-hotel-special/bellagio/

Scroll down to have a look at offers for Bellagio that covered your dates in 2006 and when they were posted...looks like last year they had deals posted in mid-September and late-October which may cover your dates (not sure when in November you are going) it's not guaranteed that similar deals will be offered this year, but it's a good starting point and if you don't see any deals that bring Bellagio to your budget, then you can consider TI or other options.

    Same info for TI:

http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/index.php/category/las-vegas-hotel-special/bellagio/ but doesn't really look like TI had much covering November last year.

And finally, as we've said before - in most cases you can book early when you find a rate you are satisfied with - and then keep looking - if something better comes along, you can cancel the original booking...this doesn't apply to booking with 3rd parties (expedia.co.uk etc) and in some cases, they've gotten sneaky on some promotions and made them non-cancellable - so just watch the terms and conditions.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
