Annoying, DH wanted a pair of shorts, says £7 on the label but lumped with sale items and a sign above saying all tops and shorts 50% off. Scanned at £7 so was going to put through and get DTD but forgot debit card so could only get food with cash we had on us! Going back later though.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Thanks OP!

I've just ordered £111.50 worth of clothes for £57.25. All tops for my DS who's growing sooo fast. Lots of Cars and Toy Story 3 things in there.
It's charged me £3.95 for delivery though despite it saying delivery's free when you spend £50+. Will have to query that with customer services.
Isn't it great when you've memorised all your credit card details? NOT!! :rotfl:
Sorry lots of others aren't having the best of time in the actual store. Must be mad in there today.0 -
totally misleading instore
am really cross
so ambiguous as to whats in the 1/2 price, some items go through at the discounted price when scanned, others it took the discount off at the end
i am cross that swim trunks i bought for my son weren't reduced although it clearly says swimwear on the signs
The CS assistant told me the items with the square reduced sticker on weren't in the promotion but other sale items that had writing on as the reduced price were. Ridiculous.
It's the most misleading sale ever! I bought items that were in the sale section and expected to get a further 50% off. The discount didn't come off so went to CS. She called the Clothes Manager who explained that it only applied to a limited range of items. She apologised for it being so complicated and said that even the staff couldn't get their head around what was included in the sale - the only way they could check was to scan an item. Just got a refund but really annoyed that I had spent so much time looking through the sale items, double checking sizes etc and didn't end up with anything

Its especially misleading because in the mens section there was a sign saying an extra 50% off all tops and shorts, yet they were'nt scanning with a discount. Not on!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

I'm totally confused with this now as well! I got gardening stuff (I know this is the clothing thread!), some reduced non-summer clothes and some summer clothes that weren't reduced. My receipt says:
Jumper 7.00
Womens Jersey 6.00
Womens Jersey 6.00
Character 4.50
Boys Top 2.00
Boys Top 2.00
Nightwear 6.00
Top & Leggin 2 for £8 -4.00
50% Off Summer Event (Ex) -13.75
I would have expected to see £8.25 in the 50% off bit so obviously something else is getting reduced. The total of whatever was reduced should be £27.50. Excluding the jumper the total of the rest without the t-shirt discount is £26.50.
I think I got a bargain!!!!0 -

DH bought quite a few items this morning but after checking his receipt when he got home I realised that he hadn't got as much discount as he should have had.
Went back into store later and queried it and was told (by a very grumpy CSA) that only some items were in the sale. I said that I understood that but that DH had bought shorts and sort sleeved summer shirts that it should be included. The CSA looked at what we had bought and said 'no, some of this is Autumn Winter stuff'. I asked her how I was supposed to know this and she told me that it said on the tag. I asked her to show me where and in very small print it said 'a/w' on the tag. I told her that I thought that it was ridiculous as I am not a tesco employee, how should I know what their codes stand for. In the end she called the manager who said that they had had quite a few complaints and that it was all H/O's fault.
I asked for it all to be honoured at 50% off and they did so but they weren't very happy about it.0 -

I had a similar situation with my shopping this morning. I used the self scanner and only 2 of the items came up with any discount, so I assumed the rest of them would come off at the till. I didnt think I had got 50% off all my items so I went to customer services and said the signs were VERY misleading (as it states that schoolwear and mens formal shirts are excluded). basically we added up all the items of clothing, divided it by 2 and they credited me back £10 onto my credit card, as the reduced price at the bottom of the receipt showed £28, but we calculated it was £38.
I got home and then realised that some of the items went through originally as 50% off, whereas some of the items showed as 50% off on the bottom of the receipt.(Ooops)!
Anyway to cut a long story short I got £122 worth of clothing (original prices, before in the sale) for £39, so I am very happy:j
My advice is if you are not happy with the prices, then go and complain to customer services. At the end of the day its not our fault Tesco keep misleading us into spending so much extra money in their stores, by awful advertising!0 -
Picked up 3 orders today, am very pleased with what I got especially as I used the code for an extra £10 off, my girls will go off to Grandma and Grandpa's house tomorrow very happy with their new clothes.
Got 2 more orders to pick up next week, one with a top and shorts for myself and the other the School clothing bundles.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160
