Seax this is a very hard time for you. OH should have his antenna switched on a bit more and be helping out. Sometimes you have to say it in words of one syllable (sp?). Ie MR Seaxwyn I need you to look after the kids tomorrow and on the weekend as I HAVE to get this work in by Monday. I know that I should have done it already, but I need your help now.
Would that work?
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Morning Seaxwyn! Good news that your Dad is coming home - does he feel quite positive about the move?
I hope you manage to get that work done today - go and make yourself a coffee and bash a few words out early on - that might set you up for the day.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thanks Taxi. That is a really good idea and one I wish I had thought of before! If I set myself the task of writing just the two outlines today, I think I can do it.
Chev, I did say all that and he agreed
Right, I'm off to London this morning to interview a senior politician. With everything else going on I haven't got the least bit stressed about this - amazing! And OH persuaded me I didn't need a haircut for the occasion. I must go and look for a suitable outfit. Luckily DD1 bought herself a new coat in Primark this week and we are now the same size! I look forward to borrowing her clothes before she overtakes me on her way to six foot.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Thanks again.
My dad is very positive about coming home - but my mum is panicking. An occupational therapist is coming to assess their house on Friday (AFTER he gets home) to advise on adjustments that are needed - handrails etc.
I am so pleased and proud about how well he has done - just 3 weeks ago it was hard to believe he'd make any kind of recovery and now he's walking and talking well.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Hi Seaxwyn
Some good news in there along with the bad - lots and *lots* of good vibes for the interview you're doing today, that really does sound something, thats a big feather in your cap. And I'm glad OH is stepping up, thats important - if you're the one who's earning, he *has* to back you up, you simply can't take on both roles. And I'm so pleased that your dad is coming home - hopefully the alterations that are needed can be done quickly.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Back home to find the cheques I paid in on Saturday still haven't appeared in my A&L account. I called them and was told to ring the companies who had issued the cheques (three clients) and ask if they'd been banked, and if so to ask for their sort code, account number and cheque number. It's three different clients and I don't look forward to making those calls. The cheques total £1124 and I really need that money.
I'm feeling really down about all this. 20 months into my DFW journey and I'm coming up against the most basic debt problems - exceeded overdraft limit, council tax arrears (we owe two months) and bills building up that I can't pay. And while I fully acknowledge responsibility for the debt, these recent problems are aggravated by clients paying late and by Alliance & Leicester apparently losing my cheques!
It's raining outside, I dont know what to do with the kids, and I have two emails I haven't dared open from the client I need to write those things for.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
First things first.Put the kettle on and stay calm.
Then phone the 3 clients and get those details.
Then open the e-mails...they can't hurt you by opening them at least you'll know what the client is saying before you contact them and will have time to think of something.
Do cheques usually clear that quickly in A+L...as they wouldn't count as banked until monday...I haven't used A+L for cheques yet!!!
Deal with those things first and then we'll deal with the other stuff.0 -
I agree with what taxi said. Take a deep breath and get going. It won't be half as bad once you get stuck in.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
