I think we ought to move near each other, then have a PA between us, along with a housekeeper and a couple of Nannies.

    Then we will be fine........simple!!

Someone suggested that I should disable the internet from my computer. That was a good idea, but it's beyond my powers as our computers are networked. But when I went running just now I had the idea of getting OH to set me up another computer WITHOUT internet access. So I could use this computer for internet stuff and have another place for pure writing. I wonder if that would help. And I wonder where I could find room

why do you need to find room?
Why not get a laptop, via business expenses, and that way you can use it at home or in meetings with clients?
    Good thread btw :D:T

    Hi all
Sorry for disappearing. I am happy to say that DS2's day surgery went fine. And he is pretty much back to his old bouncy self. It was actually nice on Tuesday and Wednesday when he was lying around wanting snuggles.....sigh!

Have been doing the thing I hate most today and yesterday, flipping house work. Had someone come around to see the house today. Hope they like it.
Still it has meant that the house is the most tidy it has been virtually in all the years we have lived here. How sad is that.

And Seax it made me think about your situation.

I like you have this deadline issue (we were still hoovering and washing the floor respectively when this lady arrived this morning!), but when it came to my OU courses I had the added motivator of a gently nagging spouse, and two children who I had to ignore to get it done.

My thoughts reference you is that I get the impression that the space you work in is generally untidy (ie from day to day living, not from your work habits), and I find with me that that is as off putting as the task. So maybe blitzing your work area will a) free some mind space as well as literal space b) you will find people you haven't tapped for work yet under all of the paper.

With reports and things, don't start at the beginning. I ALWAYS find this virtually impossible to do. If I can do some later paragraphs so that I have got into the swing of the topic, it generally seems that the beginning and the end flow from what is already written. My guess is that getting anything down on paper for tasks close to deadlines, is better than nothing. At least then you can see you are making progress so the hill isn't as hard to climb.

Ref your OH. I don't need to tell you that you can't change him, but you can work around him. I seem to remember mentioning ooh about 40 pages ago about doing shopping online? I know you have said before about wanting to pick it yourselves (ie you or OH), but even if some stuff is naff, then I bet you would STILL save over what OH impulse buys!

Anyway enough of me being bossy, I am starting to sound like Hypno (sorry!)

Sea I really liked those affirmations. I can see that even if you didn't believe them at the start that it still might affect how you act and see things.

Hypno. how is the job going? I absolutely second the idea of PA's and nannies, and cleaners. But you would all have to move to NZ if you were to count me in too!

Will try and get on before the big move and then it will be a case of NZ here we come. Already learned a few things that are different so should be interesting.

Hiya - seeing about sea's affirmations, I've looked back a few pages, but can't see them.... where are they? Anyone remember them? Sea, fancy a bit of a cut and paste job?

Don't have kids, but I used to *work* as an au pair. I could cope with living in New Zealand!
