Help! Trying to connect DVDR

Ok. plug to aerial on outside wall (to loft) now plugged into DVDR (RF in)
Another lead going from DVDR RF Out to TV Aerial IN.
Yes? Shall I run set up again?0 -
Right. Thanks. Gonna try that now. Will do a manually tune just for the programmes so I don't go throught the "easy set up" route and !!!! anything else up! Will let you know how I get on. If I'm gone for some time, I may have opened a bottle of vodka....0

Once you get that sorted out you might want to run Set Up on your TV as well. As you didn't have an aerial lead connected before you would not have been getting any of the Integrated Digital channels(Freeview) on it. Run Set Up and it will find about 30 channels which will be useful if you are ever recording anything from your Sky box and want to watch another channel.0 -
No luck. Have just noticed that hubby has used a coaxial lead from plug on wall to DVD (RF in). The 2nd lead from DVD RF Out to TV aerial In is a black (RF cable). I have tried using another black RF cable to put into the wall, but it doesnt fit it. When faffing around, I notice there is a plug on the very left hand side of the back of the DVDR that says "coaxial - Digital Out -PCM/DTS/MPEG/DOLBY DIGITAL". Does that mean anything? There is nothing in this plug.0

The Digital out is for sound output to an amplifier - don't bother with that.
Coaxial cable and RF cable are usually the same thing.
Can you try something for me so we can see if this aerial is working or not.
Your TV is an integrated digital TV so will be able to pick up around 30 Freeview channels. So far you have not used this as you have used Sky. Take the lead from the wall and plug it directly into the TV and run the tuning set up for your TV and see if it finds the digital channels.0 -
so keep the other end in the DVDR RF In?0

Actually, I think I am being thick here! You mean take the end out of the DVDR and plug into TV??!! (so keep one end plugged into the wall...). Oh bear with me!!0
