This was meant as a connection for RF which most people also connect.
Any fool knows scart is better!
People have the connection for recording, not for viewing. There is absolutely no need to tune the TV in via RF.0 -
Hubby informs me its a digital tv aerial in the loft (High Gain Wideband Digital Aerial 27884G & 27884D...we didn't install it - we've just moved in and are using this). Sorry. I really appreciate all your help here.0

No problem at all.
If this is the case, you will either find it is connected straight to the TV or it will go into your Sky box and then out to your TV. Can you find out which for me.0 -
That's the lead you need to put into the Sony to tune with.0

The lead that comes out of the back of the sky box is in the Dish input socket. None of the Aerial sockets are being used on the sky box.0

OK.
Do you have the aerial lead going straight into the TV then?
If so take it out of the TV and attach it to the DVDR on RF in. Then use the aeriel lead that came with your DVDR and connect it to RF out on the DVDR then up to the TV.0 -
Then the aerial lead from the loft surely goes into the back of the TV. We have a Sony TV with digital too and it takes RF and Scart.0

Just done this - Digital aerial in the loft is now plugged in to the back of the TV (aerial in). This wasn't done before now as we used the dish to get our channels. Does this make sense?? Is that right now?0

No you need to plug this into the back of the DVDR - into RF IN. Then take a 2nd RF lead (usually supplied) and connect if from DVDR RF OUT to your TV(ariel in).0
