After viewing comments on both sides, and visit to B&Q today and they did a plan with the shower, the space between the toilet and shower is 93cm as opposed to the bath which is currently 4cm.

My house is very small, more ideal for a single person as it's a "1 bedroom" house, I don't plan on moving anytime soon with today's market (I'm more likely in negative equity), the costs involved etc.

So I will get a shower, thanks for the input.

we have just had to have a new bath, ans we ummed and ahhed about just buying a cheapie - but then thought we're never going to move so have lashed out on a huge bath (and i mean huge), if we were going to move we wouldn't have bothered but as its our forever home lets have what we want, a shower wouldn't suit us but have what you enjoy!

A shower is the best option for a 1 bed property so well done OP. I would have done the same in your position. A bigger place, ie a family with young children needs a bath. Yours does not. :)

Baths are crap. The last time I had a warm bath was a year ago, I thought a bath with a muscle relaxent would help a injury, I got bored in 5 minutes, plus it didnt help that I farted in the water and felt even more dirty. I really dont know how anyone can stay more than 5 minutes in a bath, its sooo boring just lying there. By the time it takes to run the water and get in the thing, I can be showered, dry and dressed ready for work. I also cannot imagine how much water I would use for two baths a day.

I was ready to rip our bath out, but the missus did say about it devaluing the house, and I can agree, when we come to sell I do not want to put anyone off because we havent got a crappy bath. Plus I do use the bath once in a blue moon to have a ice bath, now that a way to relax. If you have a hard day at training or a niggling injury, fill the bath with water, add two bags of ice, lay in it for as long as you can stand (at least a few minutes) then empty the water, turn on a warm shower and get washed. Most niggles just disappear, mind the head rush though, oh and dont do it if the missus is about, the meat and two veg will disappear for a while with the ice.
