Eek! It is so hard to get in from work and catch up on this monster thread!
From what I gather (as I can't find moggins list - too far back now!) todays job was the main bedroom. Well seeing as I'm in a one bedroom flat I can do that.
Since getting home I have:
Read emails
Read MSE threads
Made a phone call to arrange an allotment
Made a phone call to arrange a freecycle collection
Sat around in front of the fire
My plan for the evening is to:
Change bedding
Put bedding in/then out(!!) of wash
Clean bedroom floor - laminate and seems to have cat hair dustbunnies!
Chop and prepare veggies for dinner. BF is doing rest
Wash up after dinner
Sit around in front of the fire
Everyone else do enjoy your Friday evening!Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Moggins
can I be a bit cheeky.
Could you post your chore list in a different colour - or bold or something.
I struggle to find it sometimes. (Not your fault just I skim too fast most of the time)"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -

Right, haven't done that well today, it started off good, but 2 glasses of wine with my lunch means that I haven't really done anything this afternoon.
Anyway, have just finished the work that I needed to do before I go back on Monday. So targets for this evening are:
1. [STRIKE]Tidy off dining table (hotspot and where I have just been working)[/STRIKE]
2. Finish polishing living room (only half done!)
3. [STRIKE]Hang up Washing from maching[/STRIKE]
4. Cook dinner (only me, so having a frozen pizza) - OK, now decided to get chinese instead!!
5. [STRIKE]Wash Up (and shine sink of course!)[/STRIKE]
6. Do Some Ironing - am going to do this 10 items at a time, as it is a massive pile and very depressing to think about doing all of it!
7. Do before bed routine.
Hubby is not home until 10.30, but I do want to watch Big Brother at 8.30, so will see what I can get done before then.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -

I will try but although I'm good at housework I am not good at this techi stuff, I normally put a title on it though so if you look through for the ones with titles on they are the days missions.
I will try and stick it in a different colour if I can master it though.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

moggins wrote:For those of you with littlies please don't panic, just do what you can and remember that even achieving one more thing than you usually do is a huge improvement. Take the time to play with your little ones, they are not small forever. If needs be turn your day around, gentle playtime and cuddles with the kids in the day exchanged for one hours worktime when they have gone to bed. Housework doesn't really take as long as you think it does, time some of your jobs and check how long they really take to do, I'll bet you'll be surprised. I discovered it takes me 4 minutes to unload my dishwasher. So next time you know you have 5 mins to spare use it to do some small job and remember that if you leave a sink of washing up to soak for 10 mins in really hot water while you go and read to the kids it takes seconds to actually wash it up afterwards. Let time work for you, don't make time your enemy.
this is so great! :j i have always been pleased with not letting housework rule my life i have 2 little girls 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 but recently felt that i have been obsessed with as everything is such a messbut i never seemed to achieve anything and also felt like was not spending as much time on nicer things in life anyway to cut a long story short my house hasn't looked so tidy downstairs for months!! :T thank you moggins and also to all posts as good for motivation and laughs!

Your OH has an evil twin, in fact sometimes he doesn't even open the post like today, just dumped it on the kitchen roll holder in the kitchen (I found it at 2pm) no wonder bills get missed.
My boys like doing the fling now too, yougest more than oldest but he's always been more helpful, but my son got a bit too competative and started putting things which are mine and not to be thrown out in his 'flingy bucket' a plastic bin as they were struggling to hit a bag and were leaving a trail of dropped *missed* items that should have gone in the bag!
Peem my partners been more helpful this week aswell, he doesn't usually lift a finger, literally! But last night when he got in he'd seen I had done all the bathroom and finished the shower curtain for me (doesn't need a ladder to unlike me) and is keeping the loo clean! I haven't been up since he had his shower before work but am hoping he's cleaned the bits from shaving then I will be stunned! He also ran the vacuum cleaner for me once yesterday just before my Dad came over. He got the high up lights down for me and was even inventive with a storage space (under DS's cabin bed in a wasted space) for the Xmas decs as the loft hatch in this house is too small to get in! He never did this much all year last year!
Having some tele time, have had to put dryer on to get the sheets dry, then sorting out the stew for the freezer, washing up, floors etcOne day I might be more organised...........
