Flylady Challenge - New Year, New You

loumac please don't consider giving up, just remember what I said above, it's not a race nor a competition and any little thing you manage to get done is an achievement. I wasn't always a SAHM so I do understand what you are going through.
The only way I managed to cope with it all was to get up a bit earlier, I know that won't work for everyone though and making jam at 5am like I used to do is not everyone's idea of fun. But by making babysteps and just keeping on top of washing and washing up (The two things that will take more time if you leave them) then you will be making progress and not getting swamped by stuff.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

p.s how do you shine your sink?
Chardonnay - whatever you do - just make sure you do it in babysteps - you will not achieve everything you want to straight away. Take it steady - do not crash and burn. Anyway to shine your sink....
1. Run some very hot water into the sink. Fill it to the rim and add some bleach. Let it sit for an hour. Then remove plug - ideally wearing gloves and being careful not to splash your clothes (I wear my apron....now!)
2. Rinse well
3. Scrub sink with cream cleaner/stardrops - ensure you rinse all the cleaner out afterwards
4. Clean round the rim of the sink with a knife, clean round the taps also (old toothbrush helps for this)
5. Flylady at this point then uses window cleaner to give it a good shine - I have a 'belfast' sink so don't bother with this bit. Flylady goes on to recommend car wax if it still isn't shining they way you like it!!
After running water into your sink, just wipe it dry to maintain the 'shine'
I don't shine my sink like this everyday - but I do try to do it at least once a week... :A
Good luck

Flushed away was a great film - girls really enjoyed it.
Today, I also managed to wash down cupboard fascias, wash dishes and clean sink after dinner and vacuum the floor. Contemplating cleaning the cooker once the girls are bathed and settled down but the wind has gone out of the sails so to speak.

Hi
Would like to join in here but am confused .... is there a specific daily list of tasks that everyone is working on? Seems like everyone is doing their own thing which is great but my problem is where to start!I also work full time but am off for a few days so would like to make some progress this week.

A swish and swipe is basically a very quick stab at the bathroom. Giving the sink a quick wipe with a damp cloth and whisking the brush around the loo.
Mizmir - I do post a list of tasks to be done the next day but you will always have thos free spirits who like to go their own way
Please feel free to follow the list or invent your own list of things that need doing, I find it helps to just stick to one room until that is finished and then move on to the next as you get such a sense of satisfaction from looking at a lovely tidy finished room. Then by the time you have worked your way around the house room by room it won't take half as long when you come to the beginning again.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Thanks Moggins - have just found your list (back on page 10) - trying to get around the site at the moment is a nightmare as it seems to be crashing on me everytime I go to a new page! Hope they sort the servers out soon.
Will look out for your list for tomorrow and start then. :T0 -
