Just got back in from shopping, got 3 bottles of stardrops so I had better keep this up! Just retreived the oven racks from the bath so I can cook dinner, DD thought it was very funny putting them in there.

I have got her to buy into this as well ;) she is just 7 and as soon as she got out of school she asked what i had been doing in the house while she was out! Seems I have two task masters, her and Moggins!!!!!!

I do have to hang my head in shame though as I have not done the list today partly coz all thoses places are hotspots :s but feel quite please with what I have done.

  • anW's mum don't feel guilty about the list - do what you can and that is all - i have hardly done anything on list today but it will be coming around next week and when dh is bathing girls tonight i will have a quick flip around their bedrooms, also i know the kitchen will be left clean and the living room. babysteps remember :D

pigpen - treat yourself to an early night - its amazing the effects of lots of late nights (not even partying but looking after family) can have on you - a good nights sleep does wonders - maybe even treat yourself to a bath (if you like them) before bed or just some time to chill before getting into bed rather than jump in after a busy day - look after yourself :A

and as for me - i'm off to do the real reason i didn't do enough flying today - and that is read my book!! whilst i'm running the bath of course ;)

(((((((((((((Pigpen))))))))))))) I definitely think you should have an early night. I'm having one too so you will probably find the list posted a little early tonight.

Well done everyone else. It's nice when you do get everything done on the list but all our new arrivals shouldn't worry, the rooms will come round again soon enough and it won't be so hard next time.

Hi everyone, sorry had PC 'issues' which has involved enitre PC being wiped and restarted everything so of course haven't been online today since that. Did get the dailies done, bread etc made, some rolls in the airing cupboard rising now :) cleared the laundry etc out of all bedrooms, stripped kids beds and remade, sorted some toys but not many as I was out from 12.30 at computers and went shopping 11.00-12.30, and before that we went out with the dogs, oldest of which insisted on jumping in a freezing cold stream! Have the dinner dishes to wash, kitchen to tidy as just had dinner and made rolls so it's a bit messy, and the back hall to mop. Then the night list.
had to leave half way through flying to go to Durham with DH,about 300 mile round trip for us

Should have said, that is where I live :)

To those who are saying about how little they have got done, never concentrate on what you haven't achieved, just what you have :)

Pigpen hope you feel better soon :) get yourself an early night, there is always tomorrow.. Same goes for Jen's little DD hope she is better tomorrow.

Kids are off for 4 days now as teacher training so unsure how much I'll get done but will still try my best, going to throw the uniforms washing in tonight seeing as they are finished for the week now.

Catowen Blue tacks site suggests citrus based cleaner, maybe you could try lemon juice http://www.blutack.com/faq.htm, testing in small hidden area first of course, I know someone who sucessfully removed it with Olbas oil, she seen it on a website, the person said Eucalyptus oil is better but had it to hand. HTH.
One day I might be more organised...........

Working today but had a quick glance around the DDs bedrooms, still so lovely and tidy:A All that is needed is a quick dusting...

Lil-me, you are right, I was so knackered last week, worked really hard and now I reap the benefits, I am more amazed at myself and the kids that I have been able to keep it tidy and keep on top of things. In the past I would work really hard for a few days and then stop and within a few days there would be "hot spots" the ironing basket would get fuller and fuller and I would get disheartened at all the clutter and then I would just ignore it as long as possible.

But just in this week I feel so much more in control, knowing if someone came to the door and I had to invite them in I wouldn't be cringing.. thinking of the mess in the kitchen and all the living room chairs covered in stuff (clean washing, kids things, magazines etc)

It doesn't even take that long to clean up straight after tea. Instead of sitting down, procrastinating and not being in the mood later, I did the dishes, wiped cooker and worktops, put dishes away, nice tablecloth and nice fruitbowl on the table, a quick brush of the floor (will mop later when dog has been out)only took me 20 minutes...and now I have all this time, doing some cardmaking and scrapbooking this evening without feeling quilty..

And I now give the bathroom sink and taps a quick swipe before I go to bed.

Loving the flying... Thanks everyone for all the advice and support..:T

    pigpen,

hope you get some well deserved rest!

Today we are on to the childrens bedrooms again so pigpen you will love me for this one. .. I do.. I revac'd them all yesterday while finishing off the landing so they are fine.. just a few bits to pick up in the little girly room.. mainly toys but a few bits of laundry. I went in DS1's room yesterday and there were 2 pairs of humming socks on his desk!!! He is gross!! forced DS1 to bring down all his laundry.. '*snort* but there is only a bit *snort*'.. ggrrrrr

Wash bedding, run hoover round dust bookshelves and windowsills, wipe light switches and clean any mucky marks off doors and door frames. that was done at the weekend so doesn't need doing, though anything obvious I'll attack

Hoover stairs from top to bottom, no excuses ladies, either use an extension cord or plug it in again at the top when the cord runs out! .. did that yesterday too

Do dailies and nightime routines. .. *blah some more!*

Short list today as AF turned up this morning and I feel like I am dying... ok.. ETA.. I'm dead!

Children almost in bed.. DH making a cuppa, DS3 having another hissy fit.. 3rd one since I picked him up at 4pm!! DD2 has bitten DS2 on his hand and DS2 poured juice on DD2. DD5 has pee'd on the floor and DD5 has shredded a pack of baby wipes. DD1 is out and DS1 is out. DD3 who is usually pretty vile has actually been ok.. And the way they carried on at dinner time.. I gave them potato gratin.. you'd think it was live worms I was feeding them! They are ungrateful little turds at times!.. it was actually quite delicious!

Oh great.. we have poo.. but at least it is in the potty! I really should toilet train this child!... oooh and a wee.. She may be doing this herself!

For goodness sake pigpen! No wonder you are dead...... All in bed quick!!
  • Blimey pigpen! I bow down in awe of you. I'm ready to die after a day with my two (19 & 5 months).

I think you must definately be awarded the title of 'Super Mum'.
    What the Deuce?
  • Pigpen - i am exhausted just reading your post
  • Hello to everyone! I joined last year but crashed on my attempts to be a flylady! Never been very good at baby steps - like to have it all done NOW and then stress out when I can't!
Still - I've been trying really hard this week and it seems like I'm getting somewhere. The mountain of ironing caused by the 3 children has disappeared as I've started doing 20 minutes each day when I get home from work after the kids tea. Whilst I've not posted for ages - just reading everyone's stuff (during lunch hours honest!!) has really helped me!

Can't wait to see what I should do tomorrow - still only 2 more weeks to half term to catch back up if I fall!

Must be time for a choccie biccie before I attack the hot spots!
