I know things are a little back to front as we normally do the main bedroom before the kids rooms but DH is working tonight and will be in the bed tomorrow day time. So if I don't twist them around this week I won't get them done.[/QUOTE]
Do you usually stick with the same pattern on a weekly basis then? Not done a full week flying yet... I can't believe it has come around full circle... It was hard work but now that we are back with the kids' rooms it should be bit easier..0 -
mumoftwo that is why I said first week, maybe 2 it's harder, but as you go on each week it gets easier, this week is when you will probably notice how much of a difference you made last weekOne day I might be more organised...........

Hi folks
Am just about to put the house on the market but need to do some serious decluttering before we do so, so thought this sounded like the perfect thread to join in on to get it done. The rooms are all superficially clean and tidy but don't open any cupboards (likely to get a tonne of stuff falling on you), look above head height (cobwebs), or below knee level (skirtings covered in dust). Windows are also a bit suspect!! Washing and ironing I am okay with but I find although the house mainly neat and tidy i wouldnt want anyone visiting without 24 hours notice to do a blitz - not ideal when selling.
Have one child who is two and a half and is a helpful wee thing but also creates more mess than I would have believed.
So day 1 his room - should be okay as its fairly small and quite tidy but there are some jobs to be done in there for selling so a good one to start gently on.0 -

evening all,
back from work via dropping carpet cleaner at friends. am really tired - all these late nights are catching up with me so going to bed to read my book soon! have done loads today - kitchen took over 90 mins, i thought i'd done a lot last week but there was a corner and the top of the fridge i hadn't touched, so that took some time(though i didn't have to worry about oven as that hasn't been used since last week!) gave the cooker top another blast with brillo but some of it seems to be rust / marks that just won't come off (on the plates themselves). looks absolutely wicked now though
Moggins tasks:
Empty worktops and clean them, put stuff back after giving everything a good wipe over. Clean cooker and OVEN!!! wipe down cupboard doors, hoover and mop floor. Clean fridge and chuck anything that is turning GREEN!
Clean bath, sink, tiles, mirrors, skirting boards and doors, shine taps, find 5 out of date bits of makeup or toiletries to chuck out. Clean bog!
Nightime routines.
rest of my list:
go to the post office - it's only across the road!!!
phone friend about cottage loan
stuff to oxfam
rubbish out
recycling out
copy timer instuctions
return timer to homebase
unscrew shower fitting
clean study, bedroom & kitchen windows
kitchen windowsill
hotspot - top of fridge-freezer
hoover right through to get dust loosened by cleaning up
