    Hi all,
Could someone please tell me what nightime routine is please? Started today and I get the daillies, hotspots but not quite sure about the swish and swipe and nightime routine, is it just a quick tidy or more than that?

Kids' room tomorrow, oh goodie, can't be worse than mine was today... I made kids tidy up earlier in the week, so a good clean and dust and bedding washing then, is that right?
Just wanted to say you are all fabulous and I have learned so much already. Wish I had discovered this when I was a young mum when the kids were much smaller. Better late than never.
  • Great task for tomorrow moggins. Beauty of having a baby is they don't make mess in their room. ;)

So i guess i am changing his bed, but i also need to finish getting ready his 3-6 month old clothes to wear, and put his too small 0-3 clothes away, and then get DH to put that lot, plus his moses basket in the loft at the weekend for me

Glad you are all safe, and that LDJ is ok. Sounds disturbing,

See you all at some stage tomorrow. Probably the evening again as i've got the afternoon out again

Thanks for all your hugs and good wishes. I've written down my list and hubby says if my arm still hurts tomorrow he'll do the children's rooms. Mmmmm....i'm sure it's going to still be sore if he's willing to tackle their rooms! Off to bed with some paracetamol. Thanks again xx

PS Managed to strip our bed but hubby took over, basic tidy of bedroom, kitchen spotless and treatment room ready for work tomorrow. Night night.
    January budget
    Nothing left!
  • Oh well, i only managed my half of the bedroom today.....one black bag for the bin and one big bag for Bags to school. BUT all is well as i can now do DDs half tomorrow and still keep up!
I dont go in DD,15s room at all if i can help it.....its easier just to shut the door and pretend that room doesnt exist!!
I usually have 2 shifts at w*** on a Friday, but im working Friday and Saturday afternoons and having both evenings off.....hope they make that a regular thing, i HATE working evenings!! So, hopefully ill be able to keep up with my Fly Ladying tommorrow and ill have Saturday off!!
House has got to the stage now, that if i had unexpectd guests, i could ask them in without being mortally affronted!!!......Thank you Moggins for keeping us all motivated....i for one owe you!!

mumoftwo - Everyones nighttime routines like dailies are different. Good ones to include are getting clothes out ready for next day, make sure sink is clear aka shining sink, quick tidy of sitting room and make sure everything is away in the kitchen. Onto mine after a week of sussing what is right for me I added floors a once over downstairs (2 dogs means once a day doesn't do) see to dogs (water and make sure been out) rubbish all out, get next days food out of freezer if required, check calendar, make sure toilets have been flushed and are clean (boys using it late on) and the bath and bathroom sink (they make a right mess with the toothpaste) pack the non fridge items into sons lunch box, sort out reading/homework/gym/swimming bags for school, which usually means I can start the day well. Will be adding fill breadmaker to that once I run out of what is in the freezer.

So when I put Do nighttime routine ^^ it's all that :) have them all on a printed checklist which means I know what I have done and needs doing, same with my 30 dailies.
One day I might be more organised...........

    .

Nighttime routine is a quick wipe down of the kitchen (worktops and sink) a quick tidyup of the living room, plumping up cushions etc. Making sure lunches are prepared for the following morning and assembling all clothes needed for the next day so you don't have to spend 30 minutes hunting for socks etc and you can get ready quickly.

The night time routines are the thing that really cuts down on panicky rushed starts to the morning.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

thanks a lot for that info. Sounds like a great plan.
Lil-me, you must have so much energy: 30 nightime routines! So organised you are, you are an inspiration. Ok I will make attempt at mine:

    shine sink
make sure all dishes are done,(hate getting up to dirty dishes)
part pack the packed luch bags
    rinse bathroom sink after kids
meat out of freezer for tomorrows HM burgers
    load WM (again)

30 dailies, night ones are less than 20, forgot WM is on there too if any washing left, energy isn't something I have a lot of, or motivation, so I need the lists or I don't do it and the feeling of 'I should have done that last night' isn't nice on a morning. Especially the dirty dishes one, and the rubbish makes the house smell on a morning. Rubbish out is usually a leg it to the bin in dressing gown moment as I always forget that bit until last minute :rotfl: Last job is usually the floors after I have put the dogs to bed, hopefully in the summer it'll just be sweeping but have to mop aswell at the minute because of the muck they drag in.
