oh my goodness, what have I started??
The bedroom is the messiest room in our house, everything gets dumped there. Bedding in the WM, hoovered behind and under bed (hangs head in shame at the amount of dust I found), dusted but still lots to do. I have a desk in my bedroom where I make cards and its an absolute disgrace. DD off school with a sore back so wants some attention, hence the lunch break and a quick write. Tell me I will feel great when it's finished.....

Already done 27 fling boogie (love that one)

    - take jacket back
    - pick parcel up from depot
    - hoover living room
    - take bedding out of WM, new load in
    - remake bed
    - iron and put away
    - mop kitchen floor, full of muddy doggy prints.
    - shine the sink
    - swish and swipe bathroom

    Hiya

I keep popping onto this thread for some inspiration. However, my situation is slightly different to others. Due to a rather large life upheaval last year I'm currently living in one city during the week, in a small single room. Then at w/e I'm down the other end of the country where I'm temporarily lodging with my mum whilst trying to FTB a flat. All my belongings are in bags/boxes in my mum's basement!

Sorry, I digress. I have found this thread really helpful, it even made me tidy out my bag on Monday morning (removing bank statements, personal letters etc) which was very helpful coz my bag was stolen that night and luckily my address wasn't in it!

Even though I'm in a small room, it still needs flyladying as I'm terrible for trying to fit too much into my life and mess comes around me!

So, here's my first list today. Wish me luck :D

    Morning task:
[strike]Get out of bed[/strike] when alarm goes off :(1.5 hr late
    [strike]Wash, dress, moisturise[/strike]

    Lunchtime tasks:
    [strike]
Print letter to refund train ticket
    Look into 'fractional renting'
    MSE :D
    Check contract
    [/strike]

Update: leave working at 1945 to now go shopping, home and then everything on this list!!!
    Evening:
Pop to Tesco's, stick to shopping list
    Load of washing
Cook pulses for soup making (my first attempt using pulses dried, not tinned!!)
Strip bed, wash bedding, turn mattress, hoover My landlord has just given me a 'new' mattress that smells of smoke. Any idea how to get rid of the cigarette smoke smell?
    Make two soups
    Prepare tomorrow's lunch
Defuzz attack - legs etc!
    Phone a friend

    Nightime routine:
?? Um, not sure of that, will think later. Thanks Moggins!
Pack bag for morning (not that I have a lot left to go in it!!)
    Get clothes ready
    Get lunch / bfast ready

    MPx

Mushy it always seems much worse in a small space but the good news is it takes less time to clean it up, I would try to fit in as much underbed storage as you can manage. Use storage where you can close lids and doors on it and it also looks attractive. Stuff looks much worse if it's strewn all over the place.

Make your nightime routine a general tidy up of your room and sorting out your clothes and lunches for tomorrow. When you are not flinging stuff all over the room because you can't find that top you wanted to wear that morning you'll have less mess :D

Moggins, I knew you'd come to my rescue :D

Bit worried, sounds like you might be strangely able to see what my current nighttime routine is!! :o I'm going to take a piccie of my room tonight so you can see how small it is!

No chance of me doing a 27 fling boogie in the room, tis too small!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hope you're feeling brighter :)

BTW, any idea for getting smoky smell out of mattress? MPx

You could try sprinkling Neutradol or shake n vac over your mattress, leaving it all day and vaccuuming it off when you get home, or if you can, stand it up on end by an open window and leaving it for a day.

  • Interesting day isn't it with the weather.

I've taken Charlie to a baby massage group, which was absoutely fab, and he's now out for the count.

However, i was stupid enough to walk to the class, and as i was locking the door, momentarily took my hand off the buggy and it blew over. Thankfully into me, and he didn't splat on the floor. The amount of physical effort it tookjust to walk up the road was unbelievable. Also, part of the gate had blown off, so i've had to move that as DH would have driven over it in the dark. Please take care if you are out and about.

I've managed to get a load through WM, empty two airers, eat breakfast and lunchand get something out for dinner. I will be happy today if i manage to get dinner cooked as i am now shattered.

I did the bedding and hoovered mattress, dusted bedroom on saturday,so i'm going to leave that, but i think i'll try and do some more washing from in there. It is tidy in the linen baskets, but needs doing.

I will also prepare for tomorrow as i have to go and visit a nursery, see my boss to negotiate hours for going back to work, and also go out for a meal for a work colleagues retirement. Hope it's not as bad as this tomorrow.

    Michelle, x
