Hi, the house in question is not livable in. it would cost alot of money to make it fit. I just worry that, I report myselfe they calculate that I owe them thousands. The company dealing with my IVA find out and the credit card companies want more money.
There just wouldn't be enough to pay everyone back, and could I be left homeless.

Oh, I love a good fraud thread! OP, you have been claiming fraudulently and will have to pay everything back. You know this and so does everybody else. Have you any evidence of your abusive partner? I am assuming the police are aware of the situation?

Please will you start by contacting Womens' Aid because they will understand the law around DV cases.

You are just feeding the people who like winding up posters on the benefits forum at the moment.

Assuming you are not a troll of course.

DV is not an excuse for fraudulently claiming benefits for 5 years.

Are you really suggesting that the OP should contact Women's Aid before she comes clean about her benefits; do you think they'll tell her she doesn't have to?

If its been five years, then surely your child is at school so no reason not to work?

Far better for you to own up now and take the penalty than for somebody to tell on you and they catch you that way.

As a side note, if the "he" threatening to tell on you is an ex partner you may not have been able to claim as a single parent either.

Short story is - you have claimed housing benefit for 5 years and you shouldnt of been. So you will have to pay all this back and you will no longer be entitled to any housing benefit for your current house because you own another house. If the house you own is up for sale you can claim housing benefit for upto 26 weeks. But as its not you wont get any.
Either way you are going to have to live in the owned house as without a job you wont be able to afford all the rent on the rented house yourself as you wont get any help with this.

You obv knew this from the start as you have admitted you lied on the forms when you filled them out. If your rent is £500 a month, you will have to pay back 30k! Good luck!

Every post digs "her" further into the mire with more fraudulent activity being admitted to, a classic troll trick.

Now I understand. Just some things are not easy to explain. The police were involved some years back. But not recently. But how can you sell something where its joint owned and where you cannot get in contact with the other person. you own half a house. You can't take it to court if you can't find the person to issue court papers on. You also have to find away to live and put a roof over you and your childrens head.
