Young and stupid grew into old and even more stupid.
In fact stupid doesn't do justice to the op0 -
This has to be a wind up. No one would seriously expect to wriggle out of their debt on the grounds that they lied, and therefore it was the lender's fault!I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

ah right. You didn't say in your initial post what you actually were trying to do. So you want to get out of paying it back altogether then? Absolutely no chance. It wasn't irresponsible lending based on the facts you submitted. But the facts you submitted were false and yes, you could be done for fraud.
However did you think you would pay the loan back?? I presume you thought you'd get another job and that just hasn't happened. Whatever the reason, you lied and now need to sort this out.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Do you know, I've put on weight lately, and I've realised why: my eyesight isn't what it was, as a consequence I can't read the calorie content on all the cook chill meals I buy.
I buy mainly Tesco and Sainsbury's but I might aswell throw Asda and Morrisons into the mix too - I was thinking of bringing a quadruple law suit against these supermarkets to get them to pay for my pain and suffering for gaining all this weight.
What do you all think?
Actually the more I think about this, I'm holding these four giants responsible for me becoming lazy and buying cook chill meals 24/7 - might squeeze a few more grand out of this if I word it carefully.
Any help would be fab - it would enable me to upgrade to M&S and Waitrose - thanks.0 -
Sorry just to clarify - the loan was for debt consolidation - i was working within a month of obtaining the loan - and was looking into applying for a loan whilst i was working (before i got made redundant) I have made many payments towards the loan - i was never intending not to pay it off, and nor so am i doing this now - i was just enquiring about the intial situation of when i applied for the loan. Which i didnt really realise was so bad at the time. I understand i have to pay this off. I was merely looking for a loophole which obvioulsy doesnt exist. This was quite some time ago now, a good few years - not that it really makes a difference.
Sorry if i've p*ssed anyone off - not my intentions.0 -
You didnt P@+s me off , its just that you came across as wanting to wriggle out of money you borrowed and thought you could escape your debt in full.0

Why not borrow the money to repay the bank from Mad Hatchet Harry O'Violence down the Old Kent road then when you fail to repay him, its quite likely you wont have any legs to stand on.Would i have any leg to stand on here?
Troll for sure.
Hope this helps.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Back on topic - it won't affect the status of the debt (except possibly push up your interest rate and/or mean they demand a full and immediate repayment and/or get the debt sold on to an aggressive company), and will only get you grief for the fraudulent application. Probably worth keeping your head down and paying it off on time each month, the current situation is the best option.0

I dont understand why most people are being so rude and sarcastic!
roh105 whether i have spent all the money or not - doesnt change the situation - infact the money was used to consolidate as i mentioned earlier! It's hardly just entered my mind!, this happend years ago - . And no im not going to go to Harry O'Violence and Lovelyleeds - good luck with suing the supermarkets...good comparison! Both definately the same kind of thing.
This is my problem which i am in the process or sorting out and was enquiring about a silly thing i did years back and to be honest, i didnt expect all the "awws" and "diddums" and made up charactors and stories...Is this not supposed to be a forum to help people.0
