Morning everyone

Smileyt I read your post before you deleted it, and I am sorry but I couldnt stop laughing OH wanted to know what was so funny and I couldnt tell him for laughing, he had to read himself.

My notoriously picky OH loves liver done this way, because it is cooked through and covered in gravy. Iin fact I think he would be happy if I served him a plate of mash covered in gravy, he loves gravy more than life!
No fair!!! bring back Smiley's post!!!
BB - lets hope that's your three bits of bad luck for nowThink big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -

I agree Kimsmum,
I didn't see the actual post but had a lovely pm from Smileyt and agree she should post it again if she wants to. I too hope to hear what happens next.
bluebag, that's rotten luck. I hope you manage to get it repaired as cheaply as you can.

Thanks for the ebay link Haribo - somehow I forgot about that option!
Smiley, please repost - dying to know what you said now!
Yikes Bluebag - that's rotten. Those excesses have stopped me claiming so many times. I'm just glad that you had a pot even if it's depleted now - would be so much worse if you'd had to scrape the cash together for all those things. Fingers crossed for you that it doesn't cost too much to fix and that you don't need to spend much between now and Christmas.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

another vote for smiley posting her tale- I am intrigued.....People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I will have to go to full on austerity, unmerciful old style with a vengence to top the pot back up.
See ya all on here more often I think, I generally do old style beacuse I like it but it is becoming more a necessity these days as everything is increasing in price while the household income is static.
I don't know how some poor folks are managing. Judging by what the govenor of the bank of England said the other day it doesn't look too optimistic for the near future either.
Dig out all my old recipes from the seventies I think, dratted economy.0 -
Guess who is heading over to the butchers tomorrow to buy some liver and smoked bacon............ cant wait! Will put sausages in it for everyone else, hopefully DGS Who is two will eat it - but can anyone confirm that its okay for him to have - I seem to think there is something about youngsters eating offal? Will also throw in some shallots carrots and mushrooms!!!!Every days a School day!0

NB some here I have had very good service from them.
A different liver recipe here if you fancy a change and you never know the don't like its might like it
I cannot see why a two year old cannot eat a little liver. I am fed up with all these "guidelines" They change their mind at the drop of a hat! People all over the world eat offal, If it was as dangerous as some would have you believe we would drop like flies. As with everything moderation is the key.0 -
Oh Lordy lordy, I bow to peer pressure.:p
OK. Well, remember last week when I regaled you with the tale of the very enthusiastic bloke who wanted me to go out with him so that we could have a good sex life?
Well, this week's tale is more bizarre. I am a lesbian and I know a lot of dog-walkers in this area since I have been trotting round with my poochies for over a decade. I recently met another dogwalker (female) who has become a kind of acquaintance, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a proper friendship yet, although I do know her name, which is a step up from only knowing the dog's name :rotfl: She (the woman, that is, not the dog!) identifies as bisexual.
Anyway, this morning I got a text from her to say that she'd popped a book through my letterbox and she hoped I would enjoy it. I returned home from dogwalking expecting to find a book on how lovely dogs are, or some kind of left-wing politics. Nope. 'Twas a book of short stories, lesbian sado-masochistic erotica, to be precise. To say I was stunned is an understatement ...... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Now I'm not a prude and I am very broad-minded but I did experience a moment's panic as to whether this was a hint:eek:
I spent the rest of the day alternately laughing about it and wondering what the heck I was going to text back to her. Nothing in my upbringing has ever prepared me for thanking the giver of such a rarified gift! In the end I sent her a text saying thank you very much for the very, erm, educational book and that no-one had ever presented me with such a book before.
She replied to say she'd just seen the words 'lesbian' and 'poetry' on the back of this book, which she got in a job lot, and thought I would enjoy it, so she'd passed it on to me. We have had a good laugh about it, but I'm still not entirely convinced she wasn't testing the waters!
So I am now wondering what will happen next Sunday.:eek:

SDG - so sad about buckbeak,
Liver - I cant stand it unless its from the chippy - no idea why but I love it from the chippy, used to crave it when pregnant, but I have never had it cooked anywhere else that I can stomach. Tempted to try the bacon and sausage recipe though.
ETA - Thank you smiley - am also waiting for next instalment!!
Its been a hard weekend here and we have had DD party yesterday, let me just say that 22 17/18 year olds are much harder work than 22 5year olds!! The gazebo stood up in hammering rain and gales only to gracefully give way just as I was beginning to think no-one would leave - who heard me whisper hallelujah!! meaning that the all exited fairly quickly around midnight. Dad and I then stood for half an hour dismantling gazebo and packing away - it was cold and very wet. Was lovely to walk into the living room at 1.00am though and not feel freezing (which I would have been in last house) instead I was warm and comfortable. Still no heating on either.
Have someone coming this week to price up some jobs that I have desperately needed doing to protect DS and can now finally begin them including (although not for his safety) a small rockery with water feature - he is fascinated by water (as evidenced by his clever use of the outside tap to create his own water feature/lake in the back garden when we first moved in) so I am hoping it will be a calming place for him and help with his extra sensory needs.0
