I think it's far more likely that a man who has witnessed the damage his father's affair has had on the family would be more inclined not to make the same mistakes.
Well done on your generosity and the way you handled the situation KatieOwl.
Hope you get a decent rest tommorrow Pink. x
Glad your son is home safe with the promise of another visit Kimsmum. x
Sorry about your gecko SDG. x
Day 3 of painting in the Haribo house. We have a lot of painted woodwork on our hall, stairs and landing and 9 doors which lead off it. I am currently glossing number 4 _pale_. OH has [STRIKE]been[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]beaten into submission by my foot stamping[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]and wailing[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]and [/STRIKE]decided to agree with my colour choices
so it's starting to come together. I've just ordered new door curtains for the two external doors so we'll be toasty in the winter.
The stove has been lit and the wine opened so I am expecting progress to slow down somewhat this evening as OH has voiced a desire to use our child free time more wisely.
.....and watch a film before you all let your imaginations run away with you.;):p

Sorry to be dense but can I please ask
Is a snag a sausage? I have never heard that term before.
I think your recipe sounds really good, simple to prepare none of the faffing frying everything before it goes into the casserole. At least that way there is no added fat.0 -
Hugs to you SDG, so sorry to hear about Buckbeak ... I agree with the others that it's a great name!
Also sending good thoughts to all those missing their children - must be so hard. x
Pink and Mrs VP - wonderful to see you both giving yourselves well-earned lie-ins. I feel tired just reading about all you do and I'd need a lot of early nights and lie-ins to catch up! I know what you mean about getting stuck in a certain wake-up early mode though Pink, the same thing happens to me.
I'm feeling a bit blah and lacklustre today - haven't been able to settle to anything, think it might be a touch of PMT but luckily I don't have it badly. I've just stuck on Songs of Praise - I'm not Christian but find it nice and uplifting all the same. That (and later I'll watch Countryfile) and a mug of cocoa I'm sure I'll feel better soon!I think it's often the small things that give me most benefit.
I was wondering does anyone know anywhere I could buy fleece material online (hopefully will deliver to Ireland). I want to get tartan/plaid and can't find it over here - have found some lovely stuff on a US site but would rather buy from closer to home. The plan is to use it as door curtains - do you think that would work? There seems to be a permanent gale blowing these days and I want to get as cosy as possible!
I'll be lighting a candle soon especially for anyone here who needs a bit of light shining on them. xTrying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

A rest is unlikely as I've just been informed that our lovely stepmum is picking up dd early tomorrow to take her out for the day.
Regarding using your child free time wisely, pick up a paintbrush again, do some batch cooking or gardening or something sensible! Other than that I really, really don't want to know what you two are up to!
Love you lots,

:rotfl:yes Jil Snag/snags/sanger/sangers = Sausage/sausages in these here parts!
Yes, could be called low fat (esp if you trim the bacon), but I think some does come out of the above mentioned items!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -

HAhahahahahahahhahahaha :rotfl::p Serves you right for thinking rude thoughts. That's karma for you.
Nuala, they have tartan fleece on ebay.
I LOVE Liver but OH has some kind of psychotic aversion to it. *roll eyes* It's most amusing when he comes home when it's cooking with bacon and onion and he wants to know what delicious thing we're having for dinner cos it smells so lovely.:D When I tell him it's liver he makes vomity faces and feigns reflief that he is having something else. Secretly I know he wants the liver.0 -

I would never, ever think rude thoughts about you and my lovely brother in law. You're putting ideas into my head and putting me off my pork!

Hi Ginny,
DS1 loves liver. He plays rugby and wants a lot of protein in his diet so I try to make it for him at least once a fortnight. These threads might help with recipes:
Liver recipe needed
Lambs liver recipe
Help! Which liver is the best?
Liver and onions like mum used to make!
Liver & bacon

Terrible shock last night, heard this almighty thud and then what I thought was rain pattering on the window, turns out the whole outside pane of the double glazing has shattered! Googled it and apparantly it's due to imperfections in the glass and can happen years after installation.
As the excess is £200 on my house insurance that means I'll have to pay for the repair. That will put a big dent in the Christmas savings pot.
I always have some money for repairs but I've just had to replace a stolen phone and my busted tumble dryer so the repair pot is potless! Whatever next?? Ah well, keep calm and carry on. No one hurt thank goodness.0
