    Misson Doggie Dinners accomplished :D

When he'd not come in the cafe by this afternoon, I texted him and said I had something for him, and he came down. I discreetly whipped him out to my car, saying 'Where is your car?' and he said 'Behind yours' I then said...'What you said about your dog made me really sad, so I've bought her a present'. I gave him the first 12 tins and he said' Awww you didn't need to do that' I dumped another 12 tins on top, and said 'Well this is to tide you over until you get sorted' and picked up the 15K of complete, and a bag of marrowbones. 'Thank you very much' he said 'I'll pay you back when my money comes through' and I replied 'No you won't it's pay it forward...you do lots of things for other people (he volunteers) so this is the universe paying some of it back!' :T I also gave him some casserole (human food) that had hit it's date in the fridge so both of them get a meaty dinner tonight! :) I'm very happy!

:o Well I just couldn't bear the thought that he might decide he couldn't afford to keep his dog...anyone here with pets knows how much they help you through the rough patches. Had to do something! Be the change and all that. Read all the books, thought I should walk the talk.

Grateful for the advice on here too, as it helped me pitch it right. It had to be more than a few tins - goodness knows how long the appeal process is.

Glitzer I am glad you got the results so fast - nothings worse than a long wait! Im sure a solution will be just as fast. Now you know why you felt bad and can to some extent look forward. :)

I just had a haircut that I didnt have to do myself - very rare occurence - and Dd paid for it as a thank you for the babysitting, perfect ! Dgs is snoring gently away upstairs after wearing his granddad out :rotfl: We had whoopsied chicken burgery things with roasties out of the freezer and mushy peas - life is good! Cost 47p for 2 of us for a meal. :T

Yes despite the worry since I stupidly did Google (don't worry all, I am going to stop now!) I am still remaining positive in the sense that now I know I do genuinely have something wrong. Which probably sounds silly but given so many people thought I was being a hypocondriac I was beginning to doubt myself!

    Afternoon all

Whinge coming up so be warned!

Kittie I so empathise with you. I was looking forward to spending time with my brood this weekend but ended up feeling like I run a B&B without the benefit of payment. Two sons and GD (not seen her for 2 years) arrived 4.45 pm Saturday. I had to drive them to a family meal that evening and was asleep before they arrived home. By 8.30am the next morning they left  Yes DS had a plane to catch, which I'd known nothing about, but it doesn't stop the feeling of being used and disappointed.

DH felt rotten all weekend having developed a stinking cold on top of his leg problem so spent all his time stuck in one room trying not to infect everyone else. His boss is continuing to send nasty emails to get him and everyone else involved in a certain project to do more, while doing b****r all himself. Poor DH has been on the construction site every day including this weekend and feels totally used, abused and undervalued. He was telling me that some of the guys haven't had a day off for a month and I was welling up with tears, it all seems so unfair. :(

Not feeling too good myself as get very emotional, feel under the weather and everything getting on top of me. DH and I decided this lunchtime that we're having a break from the usual, everyone here at Christmas because it's been such a stressful year and we need a change. Don't know how it will go down with the family and at this point in time, don't really care.

Sorry for all that folks and will try and recharge myself with positive vibes before I next post.

Jedi all my best wishes for you and your little fella ((hugs)).

Incidentally, he's under 30, hard-working, kind and good to his mother, and he's not bad looking either, if anyone out there is looking for an eligible chap, he could use a good wife ;)

I've long had a theory that you can tell a lot about a man by the way he treats his mother. :)
  • Bless you Katieowl! You're a good 'un :A God doesn't pay his debts with money - hope something good comes your way soon!

(((HUGS))) Kidcat and Glitzer :grouphug: Thining of you. x x

Eating offal is a memory from childhood too - never had it myself but stuffed heart was a favourite around this neck of the woods although we had tripe, liver, kidneys, brawn, tongue, chitlins etc at home and my Dad used to say that every bit of a pig could be eaten except the squeal!

Vets bills are a huge expense and a big worry, I am lucky as my vet will let me pay off a big bill over several months. If a pet is on regular medication, it might be well worth contacting Hyperdrug (Online animal pharmacy http://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/online-pharmacy-uk/departments/583/) to get their price - they are usually substantially cheaper. You will need to get your vet to give you a prescription but (a bit like Opticians) you have the option to buy the drugs from them or ask for a 'script

    Hi Charlies Aunt

It might be worth looking at Petdrugsonline.co.uk - we have to get tablets for our cat's thyroid problem, I checked Hyperdrug and the tablets we get for £16.66 are over £21 on there. Petdrugsonline delivery is free over £20, rather than £50.

Edit - Katie - meant to say - well done! :T:T:T:T:T
