Glitzer - you're definitely best off avoiding google. I managed to do this earlier this year and it saved a lot of anxiety. Like you, I had my results sent to a (different) team at Southampton before a decision was made. Everyone at the different hospitals worked together as a team (although I'm glad I'm not a doctor after being told 'we discussed your case over lunch and decided...') and my treatment (which is still ongoing) has been fantastic. Fingers and toes are all crossed for you. Take it easy - and maybe start planning to take it a bit easier in future, as if you have treatment you may need to rest.0

Big hugs to Glitzer and Kidcat - it sounds like you could both do with them.
It's a soggy, cold day here and OH has a stinking cold so I thought I would make some of Softstuff's choccy-orange muffins to cheer him up. The only thing is I'm not wild about chocolate orange flavour (possibly something to do with too much T3rry's chocolate orange one Christmas when I was little:o). So I decided to have a play. I didn't add the cocoa powder straight away and used half of the mixture to make "lemon curd muffins". I half filled a muffin tin with the (chocolateless mixture) then added a teaspoon of lemon curd, and finally topped up the tin with more mixture. When I'd used half the mixture I then added some cocoa powder and made the rest of the muffins as normal choc-orange muffins.
The result was scrummy, the lemon curd had spread and sunk slightly and the muffins were lovely and citrussy. And the choccy-orange muffins were as good as ever, so both OH and I are happy - so big thanks to Softstuff for the original recipe.0 -
glitzer - its good that you now have a diagnosis, and I hope they figure out what will do soon for you.
becky - well done on the working and good luck with your interview.
As for diets I was brought up on a very restricted diet and like ceridwen I enjoy trying new stuff but cant abide anything more than mildly spicy. My kids have been brought up exposed to loads of different foods, yet all have food foibles and fussy stages. DS7 is by far the worst closely followed by DS13.
Thanks for all the good wishes you are all a strength in troubled times.0 -
Glitzer and everyone else struggling with health issues, I wish you well and it's good to get a diagnosis, saves you worrying about having something untreatable! But.....stay away from Google!
Put's my stupid wasp sting into perspective!Normal people worry me.0 -
It is cold here today! I am going to stock up on blankets and fleecy throws to keep nice and cosy.
My little first aid / medicine collection is done just in case it does snow this Winter - living in town I doubt we would get snowed in though.
I am watching Frontier House on DVD - amazing to watch how modern families react to old fashioned, tough living.0 -

Misson Doggie Dinners accomplished
When he'd not come in the cafe by this afternoon, I texted him and said I had something for him, and he came down. I discreetly whipped him out to my car, saying 'Where is your car?' and he said 'Behind yours' I then said...'What you said about your dog made me really sad, so I've bought her a present'. I gave him the first 12 tins and he said' Awww you didn't need to do that' I dumped another 12 tins on top, and said 'Well this is to tide you over until you get sorted' and picked up the 15K of complete, and a bag of marrowbones. 'Thank you very much' he said 'I'll pay you back when my money comes through' and I replied 'No you won't it's pay it forward...you do lots of things for other people (he volunteers) so this is the universe paying some of it back!' :T I also gave him some casserole (human food) that had hit it's date in the fridge so both of them get a meaty dinner tonight!I'm very happy!

Glitzer - glad you got your diagnosis at last and that you seem to be in such good hands. I hope that they can do something to help you and in the meantime at least you understand why you've had the headaches etc. Take good care of yourself pet and well done for staying off Google! x
I'm just awake - I was so tired after venturing into town that I conked out on the couch. It feels like I spent a tonne of money but need to go through my receipts now to check. At least I am pretty well stocked up - got 2 x 10-packs of Lidl recycled toilet paper at €1.99 each, normally €2.99. So I won't feel panicky when I'm on the Preparing for Winter thread where everyone has hundreds of rolls!Town was quite empty at first - a few of us reckoned it was cos everyone had gone back to bed after getting up at 5.30am to watch the rugby ... which reminds me .... Congratulations to anyone in Wales and best of luck for the semis! I was sad we lost as doing well seemed to cheer everyone up - but there will be something else no doubt to serve as a break from all the doom and gloom!
Right, off for a cuppa to perk me up a bit!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!
