O gawd. Wish I hadn't ordered it now ! Is a top for summer in linen. the yarn wont cost so very much, only uses about 3 hanks. I wanted to knit it in my fav colours and make the length just right, because all summer tops seem to be about 9" long and I like a Tshirt to come down to my knees :rotfl:
The pattern is 4 euros the rest is postage . Says she as if that makes it all all right.

My god Jamanda you must have kids like mine :D
Suzid, its a natural part of life pet... you can't keep them wee forever, or teenage forever or anything forever. Just embrace the change and enjoy the good bits !
Can anybody mind that TV ad where the mum and dad were waving off the son looking sad - and were holding two huge bottles of champagne behind their backs?? that was us !:rotfl::rotfl:
Is 10C here. Sunny but not warm.

DS2 started school fulltime on my birthday, and while the other moms were sobbing that their babies were so grown up, my friend and I were doing the conga around the playground with a bottle of champagne. ;)

The Pudding Club went well, but it was exhausting making that many from scratch in a few hours. Everyone went to bed feeling slightly sick, so DH considers it a success. I've told him that the next time he has bright ideas like that he gets to do the cooking. Mississippi Mud Pie won the vote by one point and Lemon Meringue Pie was second.

I made the Tesco real food meal last night and it was very nice. I saved £5.85 compared to buying the ingredients separately and still have half of the big chicken left. That will get turned into pie for dinner tomorrow. Dinner tonight is going to be inside out burgers with sweet potato fries.

Tomorrow the Knit and Natter group is having a coffee morning to raise money for Marie Curie, so I've made two lime drizzle cakes and still have to bake and ice biscuits to look like balls of wool. My knitting might be terrible, but thank goodness my cooking is better.

I'd better stop rambling on and stop boring you all. I'll post and comment properly later.

Love and hugs to those that need them xxxx

Quess who's just gone and ordered a certain book? :D You have a lot to answer for GQ!!!

Finally sat down after making 5 Quiche Lorraines (2 for DH and I) and 2 large bakewell tarts. Many thanks for your comments and I had to laugh when DD said DS3 had said to her that if a job came up he'd be happy to move back. My reaction - Noooooooooooooooo, he'd drive me bonkers, even though I cried buckets when he left.:D DD herself was like a boomerang until she got married. DH and I are expert furniture removers.

I'm so happy and proud that DS4 worked so hard and wanted to go to university as up untill a year ago he'd never wanted to go, but I miss him so as he was so easy to live with and a willing helper. I know I'll move on as I have when the others left (time and time again:D) and DH and I are looking forward to having time to ourselves which we've never had since we met. It's our 20th wedding anniversary next month and although we're not going anywhere, we're planning on having the honeymoon at home we've never had. :D: :kisses3:

Oh I think that counts as making it all right! :rotfl:
Sounds quite posh - and if you were to byy a made to measure linen summer top it would cost a lot more than £7 + yarn cost. Even if you factor in paying yourself an hourly rate in sweeties to make it, I'm sure it's still a bargain. Gosh I'm quite good at justifying money being spent ... have had a lot of practice on myself! :D I have the opposite problem, summer tops used to be too short for me but think they make them a bit longer now or else my body has shrunk!

SDG31000, your cooking sounds amazing and your post has made me hungry! Wish I was going to your knit and natter (and stuff your face by the sounds of it!) :D
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

    http://www.foodnetwork.co.uk/recipes/killer-inside-out-burger-with-worcestershire-tomato-ketchup-5170.html

Here's an example recipe Frugal , but you basically make two patties out of minced beef and sandwich burger toppings between the patties. For example cheese, onions, cooked bacon. It just makes them a bit more unusual and you can customise them. DS1 will want chillies and pepperoni in his, I'll have mozzerella and red onions.
