Charlies Aunt ((Hugs)) It's so difficult with our furbabys, they're part of the family but we have to be brave and 'do the right thing' for them. Thinking of you
Well, I've been away for a few days and it's taken me two mugs of coffee to catch up, and now I can't remember all the things i was going to comment on :rotfl:

I saw this

and thought hurray, Piers Corbyn says it isn't going to be a cold autumn and winter. But then reading it again, it may just be that he is only saying that James Madden of Exactaweather is guessing and only he knows the real state of affairs. Which doesn't necessarily mean it won't be cold.
Kittie, I know you can't give any details, but has he actually said in the paid for forecast what he expects this autumn and winter to be like, or do we have to wait for his winter forecast? Because he does seem to get things right. It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
kittie posted in post 2962 about Peirs Corbyns forcasts for Oct predicting storms 28th -1st but wasn't sure if this is Sept 28th - 1st oct or 28th Oct to first Nov.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Thanks, for that, I remember now seeing that but it doesn't go beyond October by the look of it.

Has anyone else had a look at the Tesco prices since they launched their promotion? I printed out my master shopping list in My Supermarket last week so I thought it would be interesting to see if it is much lower because it covers everything I would ever buy on a fairly regular basis - even though I wouldn't buy it all in one go. (My Supermarket had a glitch and lost my old list so I had to reconstruct it GRRR) I had 46 items on there, all pretty basic stuff, since I cook from scratch so most of my shopping is "ingredients". It was £75.83 last week and now it's £74.87.
I won't spend it all at once!!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

Weepy wimp here
. Deposited my last chick in Uni on Friday and finding the nest VERY empty for the first time in almost 36 years . Keep telling myself to get a grip as I'll see him on Saturday when we take all his food down, but seeing his washing on the airer, empty rail in the bathroom, and empty room just sets me off. I hope you other ladies who've taken your offspring to uni are faring better.
Got a busy week ahead, cooking and baking. All went very well at the uni and the reserved freezer was collect and installed without a hitch. DS sounds happy and getting to know his flatmates, one of whom lives quite close to us. SIL took her eldest back yesterday and was dreading leaving him.
On a happy note, DD saw a friend of mine who I hadn't seen for several years, and she's 'ordered' us both to call round to a coffee morning on Friday. Looking forward to that, inbetween all the baking.
Very sorry to hear of you loss Charles Aunt and anyone in a similar situation (((hugs))).
Have a good day folks and enjoy the good weather we're promised this week. Love reading all your post, thank you everyone. :T"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. Thank you all again x x x
I know just what you mean, huge hugs to you.
Thank you for all the lovely PM's you have no idea what a comfort you have all been.
I've had a difficult week with a chest infection to add to my woes. I'm feeling a bit brighter today and have enough energy to walk up and down the garden path....though this may not actually be a good thing because I can see the wilderness my garden is turning into . Family have been great but keeping the garden up to scratch is really a step too far time wise so it's having to take a back seat for now.
I have decided to give up reading the news for the time being. I am finding it so depressing I've decided that I shall read nothing else that worries / bothers / upsets me, as there is nothing I can do about any of it.
I'm feeling a bit tetchy about being so behind for Christmas. I usually make loads of things, which hasn't been possible so far this year and I've barely been anywhere near any shops since July so have not been able to buy bargains as and when I see them. I think I'll spend my afternoon tucked up on the sofa (sunny but chilly here) and make some lists....they change nothing I know but they do give me an illusion of control :rotfl:
DH took DD2 back to uni last Friday and took her to the supermarket to stock up. It's more than a 3 hour journey back home and he was still shell shocked with the price rises when he got home.People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Oh, go on maryb, you know you want to! Throw caution to the wind. Imagine how much fun you could have planning how to have an extravagant blow-out on such largesse. If nothing else, it would be a good exercise in ingenuity.
What a farce it all is. I wonder how totals would compare if the comparison was between the new "reduced" prices and as they were before the last lot of hikes T's implemented.
Wish there was a special font that automatically came up when the thoughts you type out are heavily laced with irony, sarcasm or outright disgust….. T’s is not my favourite store anyway , and all this does is make me even less inclined to shop there.
