I love the month of December with all the hustle and bustle and madness involved in the preparations, then I really love the Christmas holidays (we both take two weeks leave) to relax, chill in front of the fire, play games and go for long wintery walks with the children.

I love Halloween :T:T:T it is my favourite
We decorate the house and all the drive!! We had a coffin made by a friend, smoke machines and about 20 years of things bought in the sale. We have a big party and the kids love it. I think I like it as the kids are happy with a big bag of sweets and dressing up rather than christmas where it is all about the latest games.

Ive been having some real serious pain in my feet/heels, for the past 3 weeks I keep thinking that if I ignore it it will go away cos im always ill and get get up with it ...... but when I needed a wee in the night I have to slip my feet into my crocs because they seem to cushion my feet, so I made an appointment and went to see the Dr he examined my feet and said I have planta fasciitis:eek:
Had a hen die on me this morning, well she didnt suffer , all were ok last night when I put them to bed, its old age with some of my hens.........still saddens me a lot to lose a hen......
Aw, Shegar, I'm sorry to hear about your hen. It's good that she didn't suffer. How old was she?
I have plantar fascitis too, it comes and goes. I have found that losing a bit of weight has helped. I also got some night splints, which were expensive and uncomfortable to wear in bed until I got used to them, but worth it for the relief they provided. They stretch your plantar fascitis ligament during the night, which eases the pain and means that you don't get out of bed and stand on a contracted ligament, stretching it painfully all in one go.
Jedi I hope you are feeling less 'inadequate' now - my house is always a mess but it's full of love and it sounds like yours is too, which is the main thing.
I ate some wheat last night, which has made me very tired today. However, I have things to do so I must get on. And not eat any more wheat!! Have a good day, all.Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Oh yes, those Fairisle booties look VERY droolworthy. I'm with you there Mardatha, but way beyond my budget, but we can dream."It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0

Barstewards! 'Scuse my language.
Hubby works for the council. His salary was ok, but a lot less than he would be getting in the private sector. We've been getting by ok although we can't afford any big cost things like holidays and we've found over the last few months that despite my carefull budgeting, the end of the month is pretty tight moneywise.
Yesterday, all the staff got a brochure with the new employment proposals and hubby's wages are being cut by 20%. That works out at about £500 a month less.
Some of the other proposals include stopping unsocial hours wages and essential car allowance. These things won't affect hubby, but they will affect people such as care workers who have to do nights and use their own cars. They don't get paid much more than NMW as it is and now they're expected to work nights for the same pay as daytime staff and get no help towards the wear and tear of their cars which they have to use for work.
Guess who the cuts don't apply to!
It's disgusting. Hubby might have a chance of a job in the private sector. He didn't want to go for it before because he felt a loyalty to the council, but not now. Fingers crossed for that because otherwise things are going to get incredibly tight here.0 -
I needed a topping and didn`t want custard so I just made a cashew cream. It is raw cashews blended with about half their volume of water. Tbh, I haven`t made it for ages but I made it bearing in mind the high magnesium content. No cashews left now so I have ordered a bulk load as it works out much cheaper but nuts are all expensive these days. I googled cashew recipes and there are loads of ways of using them esp in delicious creamy deserts
Some perennials arrived today and I was ultra pleased at the very speedy delivery and high quality of packaging and plants. P and p looks expensive but the plants are very good value, so all in all it works out well esp as each pot had several plantlets in it, which I divided to plant out.
It is in llanddewi brevi, I always thought that was a made up name and it is called pantyfod0
